Re: Best tire for all situations
Worth running two bikes Spencer? You'll take a hit trading in a newish RT. How about a nice second hand Honda CRF 250L?

Re: R1200 RT vs TT1200 SE
I looked at the Triumph and the BMW very closely. Test drove both for extended periods. The Triumph is a great bike but in every respect I thought the RT was the better machine. Some of the differences were small but I didn't think the British bike did anything better. The BMW felt lighter and you c...

Re: Depreciation
It's an interesting one. One of the biggest differences on nearly new Beemers is the extras. An SE with gearshift pro, a Nav V and a BMW top box is going to be worth a bit more than the plain bike. BMW bike dealers, like BMW car dealers, don't seem very good at listing extras so you can make a bette...

Depreciation
In last week's MCN there's a 2014 RT lc SE with Nav V, Gearshift Pro, and top box. 7600 miles with two new tyres. Full BMWSH and warranty to Aug 2016. £11250. Cannons have a 2014 (March) SE, top box, 6k miles at £13200. They also have a May 2015 SE with 3k miles at £12700, can't quite understand tha...

Re: Installed Dashcam . . . so far, so good.
They are slightly different things aren't they? One a dash cam for recording traffic/accidents/Ronnie Pickerings and one a camera for movies. I know they can overlap a bit. I was in Argentina in April. All the lads doing the TransAmerica were kitted out with helmet cams. With the comms as well crash...

Great review. Thanks. The Innovv website says $260 from China. That looks like good value for us in the UK.

For the BMW man who has everything
I had the bike at SBWMotorrad this week and saw this. I know it's not an RT but it's a work of art.

Or. Givi or Shad come with warranties and with the money you save you could try the Oktoberfest in Munich.

Re: Cell phone mount?
I've enjoyed dressing my bike up a bit. It becomes mine. The amazing thing about this RT for me is how little I've had to alter to make it work and be comfortable (previous bikes have had new seats/screen/footpegs/bars/luggage by now). The few changes I've made can be reversed easily it I ever part-...

Re: Tarting up the grey.
Try gsstickerman.co.uk. They've got a new website. Deliver worldwide apparently. All reflective and in black too.
The white looks good on the Callisto Grey but UK Traffic Regs do say reflectors to the rear should only be red in colour.

Interesting. Thanks.
By the way, now the nights are closing in, is it only in Essex that we get cyclists wearing dark clothes riding without lights?

Yep. Callisto grey. What I saved on the topbox paid for the Nav V.

Re: New to the RT forum
It's a well-worn argument on this site. Get genuine BMW accessories (and don't forget the price of color matching that BMW topbox if you want the integrated look) but at some expense. Or look at alternatives, some of which are as good and often considerably cheaper. An evening trawling through the o...

Two more questions.
Is filtering illegal in France?
If headlights are compulsory can you use daytime running lights instead?

Re: YET MORE RUMOURS ABOUT FRENCH BIKE LAWS.
Their drink-driving enforcement seems to have gone up several notches in recent years too. Every year in the last three years one of our group was randomly stopped and breathalyzed. Once on a Saturday evening near Figeac and once along a quiet country lane on a sleepy Sunday afternoon in Provence. Y...
