Re: Speeding fines in France
Update to my post from the 9th July. We are back from France and I didn’t see much evidence of an increase in speed enforcement. My pillion did see one of the new mobile cameras set up on the opposite carriageway at some roadworks. These are the odd looking low white trailers that are left by the ro...

Re: Speeding fines in France
I’m currently in Verdon & coming to the end of a Les route des grandes Alpes tour(sort of) im aware that the speed limits were reduced last year and I’ve tried to stick below them at all times. But lots of the signs on the country roads still state 90kph, when I’m 100% sure that they should be 8...

R1200RT 2009 Lights
Hi Folks My 2009 R1200RT has lost its dip beam, both bulbs. The main beam is fine, but no dippers!! I wouldn’t normally fuss, but I’m in France where I believe the police can be fussy. I won’t be driving at night, but I’m thinking that it should be sorted. If one dip beam bulb goes, does that take o...

Re: 2009 tyre pressure sensor seal kit
The disturbance by changing the tyre definitely caused the leak, but I couldn’t be arsed arguing. I bought the new seal & they removed the tyre & fitted it. Job done, even gave the fitter £10 for a couple o beers

Re: 2009 tyre pressure sensor seal kit
I`m pretty sure it needs to be held from inside the wheel before it will tighten, but no I didnt try that beforehand. I`ve bought the seal kit now, so I`ll get it fitted and see how we get on.

2009 tyre pressure sensor seal kit
i had the tyres changed earlier this week on my 2009 RT. Yesterday the rear was flat, pumped it up and went down again. The tyre fitter told me it was leaking around the valve and that it needed a replacement seal kit. Also the external wheel surface has some slight bubbling/corrosion and it might n...

"service" notification on the display
My 2009 is showing the "SERVICE" notification on the instruments display. I`m unlikely to be using a BMW dealer to service the bike from now on due to its age and high main dealer service costs. Is it possible to remove this notification without going through BMW?

Re: 2009 R1200RT - fitting Sat-Nav using the existing connector in the front harness
Hey thanks, that’s just what I needed. Mine appears to have just the power socket, but the cap is in place and I couldn’t get it off. Now I know for sure I’ll wrag it off somehow using pliers or such.

2009 R1200RT - fitting Sat-Nav using the existing connector in the front harness
Hi Folks - I intend to power a Sat-Nav via the exixting connector in the harness at the front of the bike. I`m assured it will be in there somewhere, but i`m not sure what I`m looking for. Please could someone post a pic of the harness and spare connector. I don`t want to dive in there and pull out ...

Re: Nautilus Stebel install. YouTube or similar
After reading the comments/warnings from you guys, I installed the Stebel with a slight lean away from the brake hose. Now I have approx 10mm between the hose and the horn. I might even wrapped the brake hose in a piece of narrow dia hose pipe or pneumatic tubing, just in case the horn move...

Re: Nautilus Stebel install. YouTube or similar
I heard that the Nautilus Stebel Nautilus will be an MOT fail because the power from the switch doesn`t directly drive the horn, it switches the relay which in turn drives the air compressor, which then produces the sound. Has anyone heard of this potential MOT fail? It was a guy at the lo...

Could anyone point me in the right direction please.
