Re: Sat. Nav. - Expected Lifetime

I've had a zumo 550 fail me years ago. It was out of guaranty and replaced with a refurbished 550 that I later sold for what it cost me to have replaced. Then I had a zumo 395 which I gave to my wife, to use on her bike. Big mistake. LOL Don't ask. I got a Nav V with my '16 RT, no issues. After 2 ye...

Re: New rules on filtering to front of traffic in France?

The news that came out is that the experiment is over and officially lane filtering is not permitted. Since the results of the experiment were inconclusive there will be soon another period of experiment. That being said lane filtering has been illegal in France but tolerated. The news that it was n...

Re: Continental - ContiRoad Tyres

It seems they're not marketed for heavier sport tour bike like the RT?
I don't see them in their recommended section for 1200 RT bikes.

Just a thought, couldn't these options be activated by a mechanic at a dealer?

MAM has modified their fender extender to fit the 1250 and the 1200. It is different from the original 1200 fender extender.

Re: Garmin Updates

Sounds like a scam to me. Map updates are free for the life of your Nav. It's all done via internet. All you need to do is connect it to a PC or Mac via USB and run Garmin Express.

Re: RT for 2021

TomTom GO and Sygic will work will Apple Car Play. I use TomTom GO and it works really well. Sygic not used but its a well established app so I'm sure it works well with Car Play. Note Sygic charge extra for Car Play. TomTom Go its all part of the app. The BMW Motorrad Connected app is made by TomT...

Re: RT for 2021

Most good apps for navigation allow for downloading of maps for offline use. TomTom Go, Sygic, Scenic and Calimoto to name just a few I have tried. Of all these Calimoto is an interesting app and Web Planner for creating motorcycle curvy routes. The Web Planner can export a planned route as GPX. Us...

Re: RT for 2021

I am also trying to figure out how the Navigation is going to work. Using the BMW Connect app isn't going to provide the MAP to the new TFT  screen via Bluetooth...too much data. So the maps will have to reside on the TFT system as I see it to provide the speed required to navigate with th...

Re: Poll of Tyre Options - R 1200/1250 RT

I switched to Contis Road Attack III I find them easier to turn in. However I find I can't use 39 pounds up front as the bike feel twitchy. Michelins PR4 GT just felt fine at that pressure but would start cupping quickly if I ran 36 pounds.

Re: BaseCamp for windows

How did you do the update, did you download it from the Garmin website as if you were installing it for the first time or, via an update button on BaseCamp. If directly from Garmin, does the new version just replace the previous one. I got the notification when I started Basecamp. It updates the pr...
