Re: Rear View Camera

Very true, just as you do when riding a bike a using rear view mirror or in a car, when using mirrors, sat-nav, ICE etc?

Re: Rear View Camera

Just to clarify, the head up displays that I have seen marketed toward bikers actually have the display towards the top of the visor, so a deliberate effort has to be made to see the display, it is not in vision all of the time.

Re: high beams

Some years ago I was riding during daylight, headlight on dipped beam, driver didn't see me, turned across my path, i ended up in hospital for three weeks, swollen brain (had full face helmet on at time of crash), broken arm, badly bruised legs and a burnt out written off bike and a lot of worry for...

Re: Rear View Camera

Two questions:-

*If a 'head up' display is so much of a distraction, how do military pilots manage to fly using such displays?
*Why if a rear view image was displayed on a monitor, why would it be more of a distraction than a sat-nav?

Re: Rear View Camera

Do you have any ideas on why that may be the case? Perhaps rider fixation on the monitor, or other safety concerns? I'm confused, why could it be illegal? I think it's a good idea, would provide a far better view to the rear than mirrors afford and any sensible rider would not look at a rear view m...

Re: Shell V Power Nitro + fuel

I have discussed this subject on FJR and Golf R forums, there are differing schools of thought. When 97 RON became available many years ago, I used it in my wifes car, that would sometimes suffer 'pre-ignition' under load  when using 95RON, tried 97 RON and no pre-ignition. Also calculated ...

Re: ESA question

Physics (of which I am not an expert) has an effect, obviously 2 (plus luggage) up the weight is further back on the bike and therefore leverage has a greater compression effect on the rear suspension, 20 stones at the rear of the bike would cause greater compression than the same weight on the ride...

Re: I'm Thinking of trading in my F800GT for a R1200RT

Numb hand affects different people in different ways and varies bike to bike and also possibly by age. I have had many bikes and had no problems until I reached 50 and found that a Suzuki 1250 Bandit (previously had 3 1200 Bandits), Yam FJR and my current R1200 RT all give me the same problem. Plus ...

Re: New to the R1200rt

I suffer similar problems with pins and needles, had the problem on a 1250 Bandit and also FJR. Found that sitting as far forward on seat as poss, allowing for a bend in my arm and also putting my thumb over the top of the throttle rather than around/underneath help relieve things. Have recently bou...

Apologies if I am mistaken, but it appears that a registered company is hoping for FREE input to populate a website, which in some way will generate money for that same registered company? Not the most tempting invitation.

Re: 2012 Gear shift adjustment

Thanks for the replies gents - Steve yes footpeg lowering was one consideration. Dayglo Dave you just made another man very happy (ooh err) thanks, the photos are just what I needed. I did not want to start taking the bike blindly apart, but have now been out to the garage, taken the section of body...
