Re: Sena 10R - handelbar remote needed?
I am using the BMW Bluetooth to a Scala rider Q3 (fitted to a Shoei Neotec). I use custom in-ear monitors, and I went for the dual driver version (usually used by on-stage musicians). I find the music quality from the BMW audio system to be perfectly acceptable (I'm not expecting hi-fidelity while r...

Re: Datatag registration on new bike
It has been just over a week since I picked up the bike and nothing from Datatag - but I guess it could be delayed in the post due to Christmas. I reckon I'll give them a call and make sure the dealer did register the bike. At least I finally located the ID sticker - it's on the swing arm.

Re: Top Box vs Panniers
Pagers, did you have that lot in the top box yesterday? That a lot of high up weight. My medium format camera kit was in the top box so yes, it definitely adds to the top hamper. But I'm going with a comparison against my outgoing GS where I used the same Givi top box and carried the same kit in it...

Re: WANT -
For the past eighteen months I ran with a Schuberth C3. Having now switched to a Shoei Neotec I can definitely say that I will not be going back to a Schuberth. They may be quiet, just so long as you are happy to live with the poor ventilation.

Re: Top Box vs Panniers
It will also depend on what you carry. My 'work bag' contains two laptops, all the associated power cables and so on, plus a variety of other clutter. It's fairly heavy. There is also my camera kit, which fills a small rucksack and weights even more. Or my 'SOTA' portable HAM radio setup - another h...

Re: Much tears...
I have to say Paggers, after todays ride, I now feel your pain. It's been well over 10yrs since I last dropped a bike but today seems to have been my day. I was an hour or so into the ride this afternoon, enjoying it and everything was going fine until I reached one particular junction on an A road...

Re: Much tears...
Hope you punched the cyclist :be happy: Tempting, but no. It was an easy enough mistake for him to make, he was coming through the stationary traffic looking to his left for traffic coming the other way. It never occurred to him to look to his right for traffic coming up the outside of the stationa...

Re: It's here!
Out for a bit of a ride today and took my camera with me. I was actually shooting medium format 'wet' film but had my 35mm DSLR along as well - obviously these are from that camera. The sun was not adding much to the scene so I was shooting black-and-white on the medium format. For the same reason I...

Re: Much tears...
Thanks for all the helpful feedback. I have decided to bite the bullet and get the valve cover replaced - it will be an expensive reminder, but I would rather that than being constantly reminded by knowing that the bike is damaged (even if only cosmetically). I will also ask the dealer to order and ...

Re: Much tears...
Depending on where the pannier scuff is you could do the same with that. The new rubber protection kit is a permanent attachment and will protect both of them for a whole lot less than a lid. Once applied the mark will never be seen again. Pannier protectors? Not come across those to date. Anyone h...

Re: Much tears...
If you are having the OEM head protectors fitted I reckon they will completely cover the marks. The cover are magnesium and are EXPENSIVE. I would just touch up over any exposed raw metal. The pannier lid is easily replaced and the painted top part can be reused on the replacement lid. A very easy ...

Re: Much tears...
You're also lucky not to damage the mirror. They fold back but the front edge can touch when they fold back. I agree, I was expecting to find damage on the mirror but there is none. I expect that is because I had a heavy camera bag (my medium format kit) in the top box and that most likel...

Re: Much tears...
The RT is very different to the GS. You only have to look at the size of the fairing on the RT, compared to the minuscule offering on the GS, to realise that there is a lot more top weight. On the GS such a huge portion of the weight is down low that it's incredibly easy to move around at slow speed...

Re: Much tears...
Coming from a GS I am finding the RT quite different to handle at slow speeds; due to the much higher centre of gravity I guess. I definitely need more practice - this being a good lesson to me of that. It was damp, and just before the bike went over there is a change in the concrete surface causing...
