Re: Time for new tyres soon

Cambrian Tyres are the largest motorcycle tyre wholesaler in the UK, they do not sell tyres to members of the public. Their website may be helpful when selecting tyres, checking availability & version codes etc. http://www.cambriantyres.co.uk/. If selecting Michelin, BMW recommend Pilot Road 2, ...

Re: Shell To Be BMW Recommended Oil Supplier

I use Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10w-50 Fully Synthetic. BMW (in conjunction with Castrol), have downgraded the engine oil specification from 10w-50 Fully Synthetic API SL to 15w-50 Part Synthetic API SJ. I will continue to use the higher specification oil which was originally recommended by BMW for...

Re: Fresh blood! Considering purchasing an RT

IMO, an RT ridden well, is a match for any other bike & rider on the public roads.

Have had no handling issues with either a 2007 or a 2010 bike.

Re: Final drive unit

If you think that the "bubbling" is part of the casting process finish & the paintwork is intact, I would be tempted to leave it alone. Should the appearance of the area deteriorate, then there may be some corrosion beneath the paintwork which would require attention. Rubbing down the ...

Re: Adjusting Headlight for LHD or RHD

Agree with your thoughts John, a replacement RHD headlight unit sounds like the best solution in your case. If I'm heading outside of the UK & riding the relatively short distance to Newcastle or Hull for a ferry, I tend to fit the protector/converter before I set off. For longer distances, circ...

Frozen Windscreen

When are BMW going to put heated screens on motorcycles. http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo80/davidsykes/DSCN1030_zpsdc612d3e.jpg This was Easter 2013 (end of March) at Aberfoyle on our way to Applecross. The temperature plunged overnight, had to wait for the frost to clear off the screen before ...

Re: Side Stand Enlarger

Alison at AMC Moto suggested she had put up the original code for about a week.

When I mentioned your post, she just said the new code will be available until the end of December.

Agreed, will assemble the parts complete with some ACF-50, thanks again.

BMW Headlight conversion, LHD to RHD.

Re: Adjusting Headlight for LHD or RHD

Hi John, just thought I would pose the question. As has been confirmed, there is no manual adjustment from LHD to RHD & adhesive film needs to be used. Using a removable headlight protector, negates the need to stick adhesive film directly on to the headlight. There is a 4mm air gap between the ...
