Re: Acceleration
The poster who says the best place to be is the last 2000 RPM to red line. There is NOTHING there from the motor it is done making any power at 7600-7800 RPM. This is all I am saying - see the chart. I have an '08, and the max torque band is from just below 6,000 RPM to just abo...

Re: 2013 RT fuel strip issue - what are indicators?
In 2011 if the bike was out of warranty they would not change them FOC. If the replacement then went they would. The cost of the strip in U.K. was £99.00 I don't know if the warranty extension was a US-only thing (maybe?), but the warranty extension was just that - extended cove...

Re: Acceleration
I could have dropped it another gear and gunned it but I have some mechanical sympathy for my bike. I really hope it was just crappy fuel. I'll report back over the weekend. From what I have read and experienced, the bike is made to run up to red line! All the fun is i...

Re: 2013 RT fuel strip issue - what are indicators?
BMW extended the warranty on the fuel strip for '05 through '13 model years, so I expect that any within that range have same design and issue. My RT is an '08. Not sure if they stuck w/ the fuel strip sensor for >'13 models or if they went to a float system (?). &n...

Re: 2013 RT fuel strip issue - what are indicators?
As far as I know, that is not a symptom of "the" fuel strip issue. As happened to me, symptom was simply incorrect reading, showing more fuel near empty than was there. Stranded me once before I realized what was wrong. I had the "fix" but it still o...

Re: Acceleration
My '05 RT has a sort of sluggish/rough spot around 4500 rpm, but once it gets above 5000 it comes "alive", and above 6000 it simply jumps, engine smooths out and it runs like "this is where it's at!" Right up to red line. Which is just where I'm starting to have fun!&am...

Re: Is this RT worth considering?
I can't comment on fair market value (without doing some research), but I have an '08 with nearly same mileage and I've owned and maintained it for five years, starting with about 50,000Km. Still runs great. But I would ask about mileage on the clutch and the Final drive.&nbs...

Re: 2014 R1200RT doesn't start on 1st try
Does it idle ok once it starts? Reason I ask is that I had an idle control module go bad on one cylinder, and it had a hard time starting in first try. But key symptom was rough idle. '08 RT.

Re: 2012 TC Front Brake Pads OEM/Brembo
Have experienced OEM v's EBC on a 2007 model, my first RT. ... Tried some (half the price) EBC HH pads, they were useless, no initial bite or feeling, chucked them away & got some OEM ones again. ... I have serviced brakes on countless vehicles in my life, and can say that more than any other b...

'05 RT with EBC Double-H pads for over 20k miles. Aftermarket is sometimes better.

Re: iPhone mount for 2016 R1200RT
Try something like this Ram mount balls mounted to handle bars. Then use X grip mount for phone or other accessories. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk +1 for the X grip. My wife and I both use them on our motorcycles, and I have one in my truck as well. I use a Ram ball adapte...
