Re: transmission sight glass?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I didn't think I had transmission oil that was separate from the engine oil? Is this a pre-LC thing? I ride a 2016 RT.

Re: Server moved to new location
Seems to be working fine. My session was timed-out, so I had to login again, but other than that everything normal.

Valve adjustment just got a wee bit more complicated.

You are trying to figure out what the mileage *was* the last couple times the service reminder was reset?

Re: Why did BMW change sides for the final drive/muffler
I read somewhere when the LC came along that with the GS models if you were manhandling the bike out of the mire then you were less likely to encounter the hot exhaust. Sounds like a very expensive solution to that 'problem' so may not be true. I have heard the same, apparently a safety concern wit...

Re: I need a location to put my Stanley garage door opener
I used to have once of those models, VERY expensive in the long run. :alas:kioolt wrote: I tried it but it is not as reliable as the youtube video was. I wasn't able to get the same model.

Re: Yet to purchase, do I wait for the VVT model due out next year?
I don't think the power increase is as much as 160 bhp I read 132. They always save a bit more for the following year's all new model ! I have been reading the same details lately. Originally had heard 150BHP, but later articles reporting only 134, only 9hp more than the current model. https://www....

Re: I need a location to put my Stanley garage door opener
That's the coolest thing I've heard of in a long time! I have a traditional garage door opener in my tank bag, and I thought that was high-tech compared to hopping off the bike and using the keypad on the door frame. I definitely need to look into that Stanley system.

Consider whether those additional 25hp are necessary to meet your riding needs. I ride a 2016RT, and have never lacked for power, whether riding up mountain passes, 2-up, or both at the same time.

Water pump weep hole
Took my 2016RT to dealer at 12K miles to get service reminder reset (did maintenance myself). Pointed out that there was a bit of coolant occasionally leaking from the weep hole, and the dealer offered to replace the water pump under warranty. Great deal, so I left the bike with ...

Re: Top Box colour and pads query
I purchased the deluxe top case online from KFM motorraeder for less than half of what the dealer was asking. I painted it myself with color matched paint from Colorite (a U.S. company), including clear coat. It's not a perfect paint job if you look closely, since I didn't bother...

Re: Top Box brake light
cool thanks - how do you go about the electrics? You have a couple options. If you have central locking, it's a snap, the deluxe topbox will plug directly into that round 10-pin connector under the seat. If you don't have central locking, you can get a device that plugs into the...
