Re: touratech seat

Not sure which bike you are asking about, but I had a pair of Touratech Kahedo seats that I used for about 5 years on 3 different bikes, transferring them from my hex-head to twin-cam RTs. We were very pleased with them. Firmer than the standard BMW seats and a better shape. My missus reported that ...

Re: R 1200 RT Lockable storage in fairing

Depends which model and year of bike you are referring to - hexhead and twin-cam RTs have a single large lockable pocket on the RHS, the later water-cooled bikes have either one pocket on the left and a blank cover on the right, or pockets on both sides if there is the 'audio' option. The pocket(s) ...

Re: Flat Battery

Yes, I  was caught out by assuming that the RTLC power sockets would be managed in the same way as on previous bikes  ::) . This doesn't appear to be the case! I was lucky not to be 'charged' (ouch, sorry!) for the assistance call, but as you say, we all live and learn. Cheers&...

Re: Flat Battery

I had the same experience when I transferred my AutoCom from my previous twin-cam RT to my new RTLC  >:( . I have had the AutoCom on my last 3 RTs, all powered from the rear socket via a right-angled DIN plug. I thought the same set-up would work on the RTLC, but I tried to start the bike a...

R1200RT LC frame plugs

I now have frame caps/bungs available for the watercooled RT models. [/size]These are a simple push-in plastic cap, to cover up the swingarm pivot and brake torque arm holes. See Ebay advert for further details and pictures: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-R1200RT-LC-Watercooled-models-frame-plugs-bun...

Re: North East newbie

Amazing! I didn't know that there were so many of us around!

I'm often travelling south from Hartlepool for work, I'll watch out for you!

Fletchers Farm looks good - I'm not familiar with that one. Must give it a try. I don't understand 'the rings' ? ???

Re: North East newbie

Hi David, I used the extended version, and located the sensor tip towards the back of the bike, away from engine heat. I took the accelerator module off before the remap, as I thought that the remap would do a better job and the a/m wouldn't then be needed. I had the remap done at Hilltop motorcycle...

Re: North East newbie

Thanks for all of the welcomes. Good to see an RT-specific forum. @DaygloDavid - I have another RT-riding pal who also lives in Ingleby Barwick. Regarding the re-map, I always felt that the hexhead and twin-cam RTs were a bit 'stumbly' on small throttle openings. I had good results on both versions ...

North East newbie

Hi guys 'n' gals, I'm new here, as I've just found this forum. Looks good!  :) I'm a long-time BMW and RT rider, having had a K75S, followed by R1100RS, then a single-spark R1150RT, then a twin-spark R1150RT, then a 2006 R1200RT (didn't like the brakes!), followed by a non-servo R1200RT, th...
