Re: R1200RT LE Newbie
Yep I went for the K16 after trying a 2012 RT and not liking it. Lived with all the highs and lows of the K16 (reliability was fine by the way on every count) for two years then concluded I'd never loved it other than the rush I got when opening up the throttle). Tried the new RT and immediately rem...

Re: 8 Bluetooth Headsets Tested
The thing to remember about every one of the units tested, none are fully compatible with the Alpine audio unit fitted on the RT. Only the BMW system will fully connect with two helmets but in my opinion is still a flawed system and very expensive. The Autocom will work if directly wired to the uni...

Re: 8 Bluetooth Headsets Tested
On the LC, if you press and hold the Audio on/off button the unit goes off. You need to do this to get the digital speedo ('background' setting under either user or bike menu - I forget which - when bike is stopped) to work. Same as the K1600 was.

Re: LC Auto assist gear shift
Annoying the dealer didn't check beforehand! Which dealer? North Oxford. It was after the software uodrade they did to fix the BMW battery charger problem I've been having (BMW said a reload was the fix but they quite rightly upgraded rather than just reloaded - it didn't fix the charger problem th...

LC Auto assist gear shift
Got my LC (LE) back today after a software re-map to fix a charging problem and noticed the gear shift auto assist was really ropey. Was asked to put it on centre stand with back wheel off the ground and then follow the following sequence: - Start in neutral and run for 20 seconds - Pull in clutch a...

Re: Battery Chargers
Well it turns out when aux lights are fitted to the LC they cause a fault on the aux sockets and have to be reset or the bike recoded. My dealer wasn't aware of this so there's a bulletin going out to all dealers. I wish it wasn't me who had to find these things out. :beee:

Re: Stebel replacement horn
Are you saying the fuse was missing from its holder or the kit came without any inline fuse or holder i.e. not part of the design?

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT
Well I did 2,000 miles on my 1200 LE with MPR4(GT)'s and loved them but then had to swap the bike after 6 weeks due to problems (with the electrics) and, despite agreeing it would have the same tyres fitted, it came with Metzeler Z8.s. I did 760 miles in all conditions on them and they were "OK...

Re: Battery Chargers

Re: Battery Chargers
Firenailer this is really interesting. So... are you saying.. 1. There IS actually a draw on the current from the battery all the time when the bike is switched off (that would logically flatten the battery if the bike wasn't kept on a trender / charger) or .... 2. There's NOT any actual draw of cur...

Re: Battery Chargers
Thanks. Funnily enough, I've just ordered one of those but it doesn't fix the potential problem of why/whether there's always a 0.2A drain on the accessory socket... and a potential flat battery if I don't keep it on charge, if you see what I mean.

Re: Battery Chargers
Just to clarify, my BMW Canbus/Linbus compatible charger does the same .. ish as Firenailer observed when plugged into either of the accessory sockets i.e. gets to 100%, complete LED lit and 0.2A charging but never goes to the point where the display says batter charging complete and on to sleep mod...
