Re: Depreciation
Moonie, Yep I was told BMs are good for 200,000 miles as well. The engines probably are, its everything else that wears out :)) Its like us, knees go, backs go, :alas: but in general we keep plodding on. I sold a 05 RT with 56000 miles and it ran like a dream, pulled like a train was more economical...

To be honest I think £1365 to fit a radio seems to be a bit excesssive

Re: Depreciation
Crater, Do you think the price reflects the general condition. Just because they are low mileage doesn't mean they are not marked in some way. I think the location also makes quite a difference with the pricing The 2014 at £11250 sounds like a good buy, I might be having a look at that if I was in t...

Re: Potential new R1200RT owner
Good site
Like the seat my only concern would be, I am only 29inch inside leg , do the side panels splay your legs out, ie make it more difficult to touch floor or are they positioned so they don't affect you when you come to a halt.??
Like the shelf above the sat nav too.

Re: Electronic Suspension Adjustment - 2012 TC
My 2011 has ESA, I aren't convinced that its any better than the manual to be honest, if I had the choice when buying (secondhand) I would have preferred the manual. I feel that I had more suspension variations on my 20005 model and I also think I set it better for my style of riding than the ESA do...

Re: Service charges
Yes. But if you have that little trust in a dealer you probably shouldn't be going there in the first place. But he handed them over along with his just legal brake pads. Takes all sorts Yes I agree I lost trust in my local dealer when bike was picked up by a mate and it was showing a fault. I had ...

Service charges
Just wondering (out of curiosity) what the service charges are on the new RT. Mine is a 2011 RT and I go independent, just paid £160 for full service that's all oils changed (not air filter or plugs) Brake and clutch fluid changed, brakes stripped and cleaned. ...

Re: local dealer not interested in fuel strip failure on 1200rt 2005.
The fuel strip went on my 2005 RT mine I think it was £90. I didn't bother changing it just kept a eye on mileage. Funnily enough it slowly sorted itself out and after about 5 weeks and worked perfectly. Never found out what the problem was. It had 50,000 miles on the clock when it packed up and I s...

Re: New to me 2008 R1200RT - horn and hi-beam upgrades
Yes, I agree, I reckon the horn is a excellent upgrade I fitted a master blaster from Nippy Norman, Best £30 Ive spent.
Certainly lets everyone know you are there, cant understand why BM fit the little pip pip horns when the proper ones are so cheap and its got to be a big safety issue.
