Re: Mandatory speed limiters
http://www.drivingexpert.co.uk/all-about-active-speed-limiters.html My understanding is that the speed limits are incorporated into the mapping software that the sat nav uses. If they've changed the speed limit on a particular road since the last map update then it gets it wrong. On my Gar...

Mandatory speed limiters
Watching the BBC News this morning, they covered a story about all vehicles all be fitted with speed limiters in the UK from 2022. They talked about cars and lorries but didn't mention motorbikes. However, the article on their website states all vehicles. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-4771541...

Re: Ordered a new R1250RT today
Had a 2005 1200 RT for 7 years. Brilliant bike, which I used for commuting and touring Europe. Only problem I had was the fuel strip which left me stranded me 2 miles from work when I didn't realise I had no fuel left. You're not missing anything it's an excellent bike which is a pleasure ...

Extended Warranty
Took out the extended warranty on my last bike in September last year. Paid up front because I presumed I'd be keeping it. I thought you could only cancel if you paid in instalments so when I traded in last week expected to lose half the policy. However, flicked through the terms and conditions book...

Re: R1250RT/ Nav V
I don’t know about the new one, I have a 2014 LC with a Nav V - you can use the wheel to switch between screens and also zoom in/out. I’ve also found it very useful while travelling to quickly zoom out to check out the route and terrain. I’ve chosen the sat nav part of the menu as the favourite sho...

Cheers. I'll get it sorted this week. Before they work out its a potential income generator and start charging.

Wunderlich Screen Spoiler
Wunderlich screen spoiler taken off the 2015 GS that I've just traded in. All the fittings but no instructions. Not a lot of use on an RT but if anybody has a bike with a small screen that they want to improve, ideal. Thought I'd put it on here before eBay. £50 posted. £45 if you're around Oxfordsh...

R1250RT/ Nav V
Does the wonder wheel on the latest RT still have the limited functionality of previous bikes? Been through previous posts and it seems that most of its menu driven with the wheel just being used to select options. As been mentioned before the Nav can be controlled directly by the wheel on the GS. I...

Re: Ordered a new R1250RT today
Did you go for a bike built at the factory? I chose something off their stockist so that I didn't have to wait. Was told that a production line bike would take 8 weeks, I'm going to Spain before then so that didn't work.

Re: BMW Enduroguard/Streetguard
Sorry for the late reply, not long joined the forum. I bought the Enduroguard suit after trying a lot of the alternatives (Rukka, Klim etc). It does feel stiff and unforgiving when off the bike but when riding it's very comfortable. I like the venting options including the inner zipped panel which m...

Picked mine up yesterday. Took a pic while I was doing the paperwork in the dealership.

£12.50. Is that for 15 days cover or longer?

Green Card
Got an email from Hastings today to let me know that I might need a green card to ride abroad after March 28th. They mention that's its only valid for 15 days (but can be extended) and has to be delivered by post rather than email. I'm off to Spain in May so will have to make plans to get one, they ...

Re: Mounting phone using GPS location
What about looking for a second hand Nav V on eBay. Seen them go for about £300/350 over here. A more integrated, robust and waterproof solution. What what its worth you can use the twirly wheel on the handle bars to operate it as well.
