Re: Touratech Engine Guards Installed

I really do like the idea of minimal bike protection. However, for the life of me I cannot see how that would prevent panel or or any other damage except to the engine case and then it's gonna have to be a static and easing it down gently on to its side. What about the panniers? Back brake or gear s...

Re: 2014- Switch of headlight and Auxiliary after switching on the ignition

Why would you want to ride without DTRL? I can't see the point when you consider how many SMDSY there are, but maybe Norway is different. Hey hang on, Norway was in the Land of the Midnight Sun last time I checked, it begs the question why?

Re: Shake down ride.

I am curious about the tires as I seem to be doing less motorway riding and more National, B and farm low maintenance roads these days. If I am riding green laners I don't really much care if I drop it, but this is an entirely different kettle of fish.

Welcome amigo that's some helmet you have there, and yes 'grey' is the fastest. What tyres are you using?

Re: Headlamp not working

I only knew about the issue from a call to the dealer about getting new tires. When he asked for my VIN, he told me there was a campaign to replace the L/R controllers for free and would i like to schedule an appointment. Mine is a 2012 R1200RT Premium with 34k miles. I posted a thread on the forum...

Re: WERKS Quiet Ride Windshield

IMHO I am inclined to agree with RTman and yes I have ridden in the rain.Although I live in France my bike was delivered to me in Suffolk, England where I was on contract by Williams Motorcycles Manchester in September 2014. so in answer to your question, yes I have ridden it in not just rain, but t...

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

Sorry if I sound like lobbying on Z8s not my intention. I just think tires are a personal preference married with confidence. I have not had any scared moments with the Z8s, but there again I temper my riding based on the feel (subjective) I get and the Z8s will be replaced as soon as I get good val...

Re: WERKS Quiet Ride Windshield

Well I have come fro a Triumph Tiger 800XC where the windshield was an aftermarket I had on my Tiger 800 (roadie) which was a Givi Airflow absolute magic compared to the OEM. One of the things with my 2014 bike is I find very little fault  and the need to replace OEM parts  The win...

Re: A shout for a new dealer on the block....Lloyd Motorcycles of Carlisle

Always good when you find s good dealership and you feel they are trying to give you their best. However 200 miles is a long way you will be reaching your service schedule in no time. Having said that I travelled from Saxmundam in Suffolk to Destination Triumph in Washington, Sussex for a service be...

Re: Even though they all look the same

Seeing all the heater leads brought back cold memories of military training outside Medicine Hat, Alberta. I did two stints out there both during Oct - Dec and then they decided it was too cold to train after they put me through hell, still I have fond memories. But I don't think you will be riding ...

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

Hey Moonie when you are 60yrs + you can ramble as much as you like, I know I do. I can't wait to finish with the Z8s not keen at all. I am a little undecided on what to replace them with but it looks like the same as you have, the point I was trying to make to you was 'choice' and making your own mi...

Re: To ACF50 or not to ACF50

This may sound like a daft (stupid but not quite) but if you was going to set your bike up properly to prepare for ACF50 would you was your bike in its complete state or would you remove plastic and clean individually? Trying to save on double handling as I have been known to in the past lol I plan ...

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

Hi Moonie not that there is anything wrong with the 4GTs but it's always nice to have a Comice based on an informed decision and not some dealer as good as saying 'take it or leave it'. Are there no other suppliers and tire fitters you can call? The dealership needs some competition if you ask me.
