Re: First Short Ride

You can hire a tool for £25, but with a £200 deposit, it makes the job quick and simple. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134122495671?itmmeta=01HR44SMBRA7P7ESAVNMMBFNNB&hash=item1f3a52deb7:g:YR0AAOSw-S1ihNfA&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8HXlP762A%2F6F%2FeLPIljzBycU%2FdMDvz0Qgc4dbDNj2stgEXA1ktrPj%2Fk1r4e...

Re: Steering/fall in/ counter steering (new owner)

Glad your sorted, I can't say I've noticed this on mine, but like above, tires are 90% of the time going to make a difference good or bad, but most of the time it's good as the old ones have worn or don't suit the bike. The GS is a different animal, big bars and sitty up position, I sold mine as it ...

Re: First Short Ride

Good for you to get out, I got mine out for about 20 miles a few weeks ago, but it has not done anything since. With regard to the screen, I'm 6 1" and have the seat on high, so I'm probably 2/3" higher, and the larger screen makes a big difference rather than have my head right in the tur...

Re: Sheepskin Seat Cushion Pad

I've got one, not this brand, but the leather underside grips the seat fine, I've not had a problem slipping, but when it gets wet it stays wet  They give a bit of extra comfort, but not a massive amount, I cant remember how much I paid for it, so I suppose it depends if you fancy a punt and ...

Re: Wanted- inner bags R1250RT

This time I just bought aftermarket ones rather than the OEM BMW ones. The reason was purely financial, the last couple of bikes I've bought them for were around £200 for the set, and although they are good, I just think they are a rip off when you can get them for £50/60. Admittedly, they are not a...

Re: Aftermarket seat for R1250RT - again!!

Went for two different designs on my last two bikes - the GTLEs was a touch slidey, so went for non slip on the GA If I remember correctly the last one was about $1000+ all in including two way shipping, very comfortable though, I'm just scared to buy a third in case I sell this bike also, my track ...

Re: Aftermarket seat for R1250RT - again!!

What about custom made? Try Tony archer Pretty much as Steve says below, I have used Tony in the past, and he was fine, but most of these guys are recovering or modding seats a bit rather than doing them for comfort. If RDL had a UK operation I'd get another as I've had a couple of theirs in the pa...

Aftermarket seat for R1250RT - again!!

I've got a fat arse - there, I said it, so getting the right seat is a pain there of, so I'm looking for another one, either rider/pillion or both to fit the R1250RT, I believe the R1200RT from 2019 onwards also fits?? Needs to be heated, standard or tall, and in good condition, not a Wunderlich one...

Sounds like you are just about where you want to be - I do that then change the bike, this time round I'm trying to be good, but I'm already failing if truth be told

Re: Will i fit a RT?

Struggled with this one  I applaud the idea, but in most of the pictures I could barely se the difference, and it's about your shape also, the only way to know is try it out and see how it feels, although I know form experience a low seat would not fit my frame, but I'd go for a standard or ta...
