Re: Humble Pie

You're right, I think the bike looks good in black and the gold bits go nicely. The previous owner has fitted a Touratech oil cooler guard which in my view enhances the bike's good looks. Expecting someone to come along and tell me that the engine is in danger of overheating and such guards are not...

Re: Changing road route colour on the BMW Nav V

The preset UK colours are a problem for me because I'm colour blind (hence the fabled pink trousers story).  The route looks the same as motorways and rivers, which has at times sent me off the wrong way at junctions.  Spoke to the man from Garmin at the NEC show and his handy tip...

Re: Nav VI Initial comments and concerns

Do I detect a slight twitching to get out of the dark side. Not in the slightest :-) I picked the GS carefully because I was no longer doing an extended commute and much as I loved the RT, on balance the GS is more suited to most of the riding I do at the moment.  Inevitably there are bots...

Re: garmin 2018 latest map update

Did the latest map update when it came out a week or so ago. After reading a thread on another forum thought I would check again what was loaded. Guess what, had 2018 North but not South, so half missing. Rang Garmin, just re-installed and they are now both there. So check your maps chaps, just in ...

Re: Nav VI Initial comments and concerns

Your frustrations have already been discussed at great length. As you say software tweaks cannot be that hard to do. As for lockable satnav many of us have been banging on about this since time began. Either BMW don't read what we have to say on forums or they just don't see it as a problem. Pity. ...

Re: LC 2015

My 2014 RT was my first BMW.  I just assumed all BMW gear boxes were like that - bit clunky and neutral hard to find.  At first it was odd, coming from a Ducati that a neutral between every pair of gears, up or down the box, to the RT that only had half a neutral - I never did figu...

What's 4* parking then?

Does the bike get a feather pillow and a cotton sheet?

Re: Weaving/white lining

I had exactly this issue with my LCRT.  Turned out to be a fried front tyre.  It looked ok to me but dealer insisted that was the problem and when they replaced the tyre, the problem disappeared. Ironically that wasn't the OEM Z8 though, it was a PR4GT and it hadn't done many miles...

Re: Keyless, can they be stolen?

I've got this remarkable security device to protect me from this type of theft.  It's a bit of silver metal that sticks out of the fob.  Then you stick it in to this little slot and turn.  WOrks every time. :) Sounds a bit home-made to me.  Doubt it will catch on...

Keyless, can they be stolen? I pose this one after the news yesterday after a keyless car was stolen without removing the keys from the house but possibly accessing the keys remotely  :o https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4420786/Thieves-caught-CCTV-hacking-Mercedes-couple-s-drive.ht...

Re: 2015 LC R1200RT

Going to buck the trend here, I own a 2014 LC which I love, but luckily I have access to a 2010 RT which I don't own but ride regularly. Got to say I love the 2010 as well and would consider owning now. So If I could have both and it wasn't big money, I would have both. I am though considering purc...

RTman10's probably right.

Haven't heard of many bods going back to the old ones...
