Re: Protecting plastic bits - temporarily
Over here car accessory stores sell stick on protectors for car bumpers (fenders?) for about £10. Put them along the edge which will ground first. They are black and look like they were always there.

Re: My latest RT
Nice!! Are they the standard BMW lights? Been considering fitting Denali lights but they mount up near the indicators. I reckon that makes then pretty vulnerable if you drop the bike, and they could cause more damage to the Tupperware.

Re: 2018 RTLE Handling.
Just echoing what Bandytales and Casbar have said, CW's response surprises me. I've dealt with them for years and they have always been great. Much more friendly than some other dealers I could use closer to home. Apologies if I've missed this earlier but you could ask ...

Glad all's well. Yes the quickshifter can take a little while to get the hang of. Once you do though..... brilliant. Much kinder on the wrist after a long day's riding.

Re: EZCan - quick question
Hmmm, wonder if it is the lights as I've not seen any problems from folk using Denali. Wunderlich reckon theirs are okay with EZCan too.

Re: 500+ mile days.
I do a few each year. I enter the Round Britain Rally each year and live on the south coast. So a typical long day would be a quick squirt up the M3 or A34 and then a circuit of whatever area I'm in hoovering up 7 or 8 landmarks, then home again. On the bike by 7am and ...

Re: Gearchange Assist
I really like the quickshifter. The benefit can really be felt at the end of a 500 mile day on UK roads, no aching left hand and wrist. Just makes things easier.

Re: 2018 RTLE Handling.
At risk of adding fuel to the tyre fire, mine came with Z8s which I hated, and have been on PR4GTs since which are better for me. Each to their own.... Weird though isn't it?

How far is the bike from rideable? Maybe you could get the gearbox fixed and ride it slightly scuffed and then get the damage fully fixed later.

Re: Brand new 1200RT - won’t engage 3rd when warm
Phone the dealer and tell them to pick it up! Why put yourself at risk as you don't know what the fault is and what it might do. Had the same problem on a Triumph Sprint ST several years ago. Picked it up new and by the time I got home it was stuck in 4th. The...

Re: Varifocal glasses
I'm long sighted and don't need anything for distance. The sat nav and bike instruments can be an issue when tired though and at night. just for fun I'm colour blind too and red on black is difficult. Cheap fix: I bought a pair of cheap very small (think Bond villain) r...

Re: 4 wheel drivers when filtering.
Over the many years I've been riding I've seen every kind of idiot behaviour from car drivers while bikes have been filtering. The common one is drivers closing the gap when they see you coming but I've also seen drivers throw things out the window as you pass, including lighted cigarettes, …. Sent...
