I have done so little (perhaps 100...200 km) with the Dunlops so far that I'm unable to comment.
But should I look my short list again I would still choose these based on feedback from others, availability and price.

Re: How many miles are too many?
Perhaps a lower mileage 2010...2013 RT?
Prices should be very reasonable and no more possible final drive problems etc.

Re: How many miles are too many?
What is considered high mileage is the actual question. This is odometer (kilometers) of a 1996 R1100RT whose owner I know: https://i.imgur.com/8H0ohtC.jpg Buddy's K1100RS has around 275000 kilometers on the clock and it is still going strong. Of course eventually high mileage bikes will need certai...

Re: 2023 Rt test ride
New ones are magnificent machines. But I like the looks of older models better.
Not having the funds to get the new one may have something to do with this but nevertheless...

Re: What did you do today?
I was working on my GS (the Japanese one) doing various stuff as it has been sitting in the previous owner's garage for the past five years.
Five year old gas smells really bad.
And then I ran onto this.

Re: What's yours called?
I haven't named my bikes, I just call them by brand or such.
She on the other hand calls all of them with same name: penile extensions.
Her 62nd or so is approaching. I'm going to give her a Happy 65th Anniversary Card.

That is good to hear.
Mine arrived from China allright and all parts seem to be present.
Have not had time to install them yet as GS1000G requires some basic service first.

"This followed me home. Can I keep it?"
1984 GS1000G with 35k miles on the clock arrived today.
I remember when these were new. Only took me 40 years to get one...

Re: 2023 Poll of Tyre Options
My vote is on Dunlop RoadSmart IV as the GT version was not available when poll was set up.
Could the higher powers change my vote to Dunlop RoadSmart IV GT, please?

Re: Air bag trousers
I'm sure those are very good protection in an unfortunate case of a crash.
I can imagine they may be quite warm with that extra layer of stuff around your body.

Re: Helmets 2023?
Have wanted for a long time to try the new AGVs. My last AGV was an AGV Quasar back in mid-90s but that was damaged in a crash where I broke my collarbone and my VFR. Stupid car driver! Anyway Quasar fit my head perfect. Then it seemed that AGV changed the helmet shape and they never again su...
