Re: Fuel grade
Hi Budman- good math...I actually buy across the line in Washington State. I live on the line so the US gas station is closer and I have Nexus so I can breeze through the border crossing (Blane/Peace Arch). In Canada it's more than the U.S., I'm saving about 40 cents a litre by crossing the line! Th...

Re: Battery Chargers
Good question DaygloDavid - I use a 12 Volt accessory on the NineT (installed one on the left side to the frame) and on the R1200RT I installed a quick connect plug-in that I wired straight into the battery. The charger came with the plug-in and the accessory cables, so I just switch depending on wh...

Re: Battery Chargers
Have been using the Optimate for over a year on the NineT and for the past few weeks on the R1200RT. Works like a charm. The BMW dealer recommended this one over the BMW, which is a nifty unit, purely on price (almost half).

Re: Fuel grade
I always use the high octane myself for performance and longevity, which may or may not be true. Also petrol, aka gas on the west coast, sells for about 40 pence a litre. Oh, and the folks here think we are being gouged at this price :-)

Re: Bmw System 6, schuberth c3 or Shoei helmet?
I'll 2nd RTman10. We have System 6 helmets now and find they hit the mark in terms of comfort, price and weight. A nice helmet all around, but check sizing :-)

Re: Electric Windshield on the R1200RT LC
As always....thanks for the great responses! Like the idea of a software update for future, so I'll drop a line to the folks at BMW. In the meantime, I'll pop the screen off for a good clean :-) Sun is shining on the West Coast as I type, so think its time for the ball & chain and I to go for an...

Re: To ACF50 or not to ACF50
Leaf blower for drying is the only way to go! I use Meguiar's marine grade washing liquid too, its less harsh and does a great job (http://www.meguiars.com/en/marine/). I also use their minute wax (http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g17516-ultimate-quik-wax/) after each washing and once ...

Re: What say Ye?
You could try the Rev'it line http://www.revitusa.com/en-us/#/products/FAR038 or the main page http://www.revitusa.com/en-us/#/home I'm on the west coast and in the summer we get some hot, hot weather. I find their air flow jackets are great for 25 - 30 celsius and then in the extreme heat of 40 and...
