Re: Throttle modes?
I think rain is pretty clear, max power is lower + ramp up is slower... My understanding of Road vs. Dynamic is the power/torque curve to RPM is the same, however the ramp up in Dynamic is steeper meaning you effectively get more throttle at the engine for the same amount of twist on the handle bar...

Throttle modes?
The LC RT owner's manual states that in the road riding mode the throttle response is direct, ie no damping, and that when dynamic mode is selected the throttle response is "Dynamic"....... What does it mean exactly? More direct than direct? ??? ?

Re: Questions from a wannabe owner!
Well, bronze rt is on order and will be delivered in a couple of weeks! I believe that being this year's new colour, bronze is also the fastest and best handling one. :-)

Rider Seat for sale - regular height, heated - brand new!
Hi, is anybody interested in purchasing a brand new regular height heated rider seat from a 2016 r1200rt? Today I have spoken to a dealer about ordering the bike and they can only get me quickly one with the standard height seat so I would have to buy the high seat separately, anybody needs a standa...

Re: Questions from a wannabe owner!
http://bmwdean.com/2015-r1200rt.htm Read this fantastic review I did read that and all the other reviews I could find, that's why I'm tempted to buy one! The bottom line was always: not a screamer, but quick enough and one of the best, if not the best, tourer on the market. :-) The reason why I've ...

Re: Questions from a wannabe owner!
Think you will discover the TomTom is a no go fit wise. You can get good pannier protection from Halfords for £10. They are bumper protectors but are the correct length for the panniers. I have no idea how the panniers protectors look like as I could not find any picture anywhere on the bmw promoti...

Re: Questions from a wannabe owner!
Not going for the audio system, and I will try to use my tomtom gps before investing in a new one only if the old one does not fit. I am planning to get the bmw head protectors and panniers plastic protectors to prevent much more expensive damage as I guess the bike would be resting on those if it i...

Re: Questions from a wannabe owner!
I'll stick with my ugly coocase for the moment and save a grand then! ;D
Is there any highly recommended accessory, considering I would be buying an LE?
Heads and/or panniers crash protectors?
Keyless ride?
Anything else?

Re: Questions from a wannabe owner!
Well guys, the other half says black, so it will be black irrespective of being faster or slower! She has the final saying with regard to colour as she offered to chip in the fund for the new bike to persuade me to go for a more comfortable bike (not that I needed any persuasion to buy a r1200rt but...

Re: Questions from a wannabe owner!
The test ride is already in the plan as soon as I have some time at the weekend to take the demo for a few hours at my local dealer. I just wanted to hear from other owners which have tried both suspension as I think that even along test ride (a few hours) is not long enough to fully appreciate the ...

Questions from a wannabe owner!
Hi, I am considering the purchase of a new or used low mileage (water-cooled) R1200RT and would like some advice from the forum. I have owned for a few months a gorgeous 2012 K1300S which was unfortunately written off last July as a consequence of a car driver failing to stop behind me at a traffic ...
