Re: DIY Servicing
A general question here , what is your opinion on this matter ? because of the cost of a new bike is it beneficial to carry out interim oil/filter changes or just adhere to the bikes service intervals as recommended by the dealers ? also if you carry out interim oil/filter changes yourself does thi...

Re: ### My Ram Mount and Speedometer App Video on 2020 R1250RT ###
Here is an example of damage to image stabilization due to use on a motorcycle. Problem occurs when taking photos or video. More common on Single Cylinder, V-Twins, Boxer engines than inline engines due to vibration. Also seen on off road bikes. Several companies have vibration dampeners a...

Re: RT recall fuel pump problems
On my 2010, that's pretty much what my dealer told me. Inspect first and they will determine fix. Didn't see a crack, but must have had previous recall as needed to order a replacement fuel pump to fix the warranty. Good to get it done early and free, bad that it will be out of service a week, the f...

Re: Mirrors
When I bought my 2010 used the previous owner had installed a set of GS mirror on it. Glad he did as I they have worked well for me. My salesman recommended to me how to adjust the mirror so the OEM mirrors were more of a blindspot mirror and the GS mirrors were good for looking to the rear. Between...

Re: Hex ezCAN installation problem
I think I installed mine first and then configured and updated after all set up on the bike. Not heard of any issue with any frequency. I did have a Gen 1 unit fail after maybe six months. As I recall there was a green light but nothing worked from it. Hex replaced it under warranty. Installed new u...

Illium works Crash Bars
On my 2010 the Heed crash bars fit closer and do touch the fairing slightly on the lower part of the right side as well. I might add it’s no big deal, just takes a little extra maneuver to install. Tip over at gas pump when sidestand wasn’t locked in place and when parked on hill and both times no d...

Re: Innovv K2 Camera
Scunny12, I think it just depends on where you are are when road was resurfaced last. There are some really great roads with great road surfaces and sometimes there are some great roads with curves and you just wish they would fix the pavement. For pretty hilly twisty road for the Midwest, it was a ...

Re: Innovv K2 Camera
This is the view from the camera as mounted above. I pulled some video to make a movie, but is shows you the angles and view you get from these mounting positions. For some reason at this point of day after stop the GPS wasn't getting a fix or there was an issue as no speed shows, was working earlie...

Re: Innovv K2 Camera
I installed a Innovv K2 system on my 2010 RT. I mounted the DVR under the seat with velcro. I put the front camera behind the windscreen to give a bit of a rider perspective and to offer some protection from lens. I mounted it on a mount I found on Amazon off of my GPS rail on top of dash....

Re: Newbie stupid questions...
As the Denali CANSMART is basically a relabeled and slightly modified HEX EZCan I am sure it should work as the EZCan works with camhead models 2010-2013, I have an EZCan on mine.

Re: New Headset Communication System
I would recommend the Cardo Packtalk Bold. This is after experience with 4 different models of Sena communicators, not that I personally had significant issues with my Sena products except for when I was in groups of 3 or more trying to use the group intercom. When Cardo went with their MESH network...

Re: new TPMS aftermarket programming
You will need a GS-911 tool or similar to be able to program the new sensor ID's to the TPMS Module (ECM). I've used an Autel TPMS tool and my GS-911 to program a new sensor replaced on a R1200GS for another rider. Might be some other method, or there is another device that works similar to GS-911 o...

Re: Metzler Roadtech 1
I'm on my second set of Roadtec 01 tires. New set installed by dealer when I bought my RT used. Replaced 1st set with about 12,500 miles on them, could have probably gone another 2-3,000 miles but wanted to get it done before getting into the 2020 season. Excellent grip dry and wet, never experience...

Re: 12,000-Mile Service Completed
I just did my 12,000 mile service about 2 weeks ago. Oil and Filter change, Air Filter replacement, Rear Differential fluid change, Gearbox oil change (also lubed splines), Spark Plug replacement, TB Sync, Valve Check, Inspection per BMW, read On-board computer and reset maintenance reminder with GS...
