Re: Speeding fines in France

WOW !  What a dreadful experience ! I have travelled around France for many years (bike and car) and, while I would agree that things have not improved over the years, I have certainly never found anything as bad as what you describe. My most recent trip (last month) saw me overnight in La...

Re: Speeding fines in France

Hello all I should probably not write this, but I left France a few years ago - and not been there since - and not planning to visit. France have changed quite a bit - from the country I know from all my touring on the MC there before. Now - last time - I only found impolite -  arrogante Po...

Re: Is it me - or is the Nav V / Basecamp completely useless for planning

Basecamp is all of the awful things people say above, and more, until you get used to it.  I use it all the time now, and have very few problems.  Just back from an 8 day trip planned on Basecamp.  The way I do it is to plan the entire route (this one was 2200 miles),then...

Re: A first long trip on my new 1250RT this weekend :-)

Hi Steinar Whats the gasoline enricher? Kindly advise. David Sorry for the qryptic message ;-) I ment the BoosterPlug : https://www.boosterplug.com/shop/frontpage.html This one really works. Better low rpm performance - and the engine in general works better.  My Feeling - and that is what...

Re: Intercom recommendations

So who do you think makes the BMW helmet and the BT module in it? Well - the helmet I do not know. Before there was an label inside - telling the produsent - but not any longer ... The BT is made by Siemens - Germany.  It says Siemens all over the module. I have seen someone writing on the...

Re: No throttle on 2015 R1200 RT LC

I apologise, my one word reply to Simbo, was a quip, a joke, as I had met him and he replied I was small, not short, not vertically challenged, although at 5ft 8in, I was tall enough to join the Police, so can't have been that short. So I took it as a joke reply. Beagle obviously took offence at th...

Re: Media Player on Nav VI

STeinar Thank you again for your detailed explanation. Please excuse my lack of understanding! I understand the USB flash stick will plug into the USB port in the right hand compartment and will play through the audio system on the bike. Surely this will Bluetooth the sound to the headset. Why do y...

Re: Media Player on Nav VI

Many Thanks Steinar I'm now thinking of using an iPod that will plug into the front right dash compartment in order to play music. The latest phones are too big to fit that compartment? A suitable iPod will fit OK. This will offer stereo rather than mono? is this correct? Also when plugged in direc...

Re: Media Player on Nav VI

Be aware that the built-in connection between the GPS and the bike's radio / audio systems is mono. It is intended for audio instructions from GPS and not for music. Therefore, in the beginning, BMW chose to disable the music player when the GPS was connected to a bike with radio / sound system. The...

Re: HANDLE BAR ADJUSTERS

By 'dead clever', do you mean the handlebar raisers? Good question. I ask the same one. Does the user have the option/ability to rotate those risers forward or back to suit their own requirements, or are they locked to the one position? What was your cheapo mod? I tried them on my 1200RT.. Up and f...

Re: Here we go - 1250 Calliper issues

Yes, UKGSER is like that, you think I would have learnt now not to respond, but sometimes I get caught up with the same people. You will find its generally the same group who snipe, keyboard warriors. That's why we must try and keep this place civil, spirited debate is fine, and I know in the past ...
