That will fit a post-2014 bike, but you'd have to live without the internal courtesy light, the central locking and the option of a high level brake light.

Post-lockdown tour

For the last 20+years I have ridden my bike over to Europe, at least once per year. I've been as far South as Gibraltar / Sicily / Bulgaria, East to St Peterburg and North to Helsinki / Stockholm. I used to go with my wife on pillion and, more recently, with my brother and / or another riding friend...

Re: Top boxes

I always have the panniers and top box on the bike. They may be full (i.e. overloaded) or empty and I may or may not have my wife as a pillion on board.

I've done over 100,000 miles on R1200RTs and never been bothered with crosswinds (although my wife has !).

Re: Poll of Tyre Options - R 1200 RT, K26 (2012)

The poll is still for "what tyres are on your RT ?" rather than "The best tyre for the R1200 / 1250RT in my experience / opinion" Is it possible to poll both ? I've voted for PR4GT because that's what I have on the bike. However if the PR3 was still available that's what I would ...

Re: Coronavirus

Here's a good one from Jimmy Krankie (aka Nicola Sturgeon). "She said people can travel to a relative's home and spend time with them outside - but she warned against travelling long distances in case they need to go inside to use the toilet." She also said it may be months before some Sc...

Re: Low beam issues

Do you have DRLs ?  Keyless ??
I have both, and don't get low beam until I demand it (or the engine is running and it's dark).

Re: What do you use to keep your chrome exhaust shiny?

Last year I removed the silencer, then the header assembly to give my bike a deep clean. (It's a 2017 model bought and registered in 2016) The nuts holding the headers to the cylinder head looked like those in the pictures posted by David of the GS headers.  I assumed they were external Tor...

Re: Fuel station air pumps

I've got the right-angle adaptors which I needed for my previous RTs. There is no difference between "with" and "without" TPMS. I also have the straight extensions for use on an old Kia Picanto which has short valve stems and an obstructive wheel trim. My current RT has 90 degree...

Re: Keyless, Central Locking, Fuel Filler Cap

OK, plastics removed and connector for fuel filler cap central locking separated. I measured constant battery voltage across the socket regardless of ignition on or off, central locking engaged or not, key in range or not.  I have to believe there is a "signal" fault. I checked th...

Re: Fuel filler cap not locking

My filler cap opens and closes OK, it just doesn't lock - see my other thread :
Keyless, Central Locking, Fuel Filler Cap

The bike is keyless and the central locking still works on everything - except the fuel filler cap.

OK - thanks, that's my job for tomorrow then .....

Re: Another Satnav Lock Option?

I've just fitted the oldtimers lock, works pretty well IMHO. However my fuel cap is not locking now - related perhaps? Or was it ever working..... seriously who checks that their fuel cap is locked? Oh well it'll give me something to do in the days / weeks ahead I guess. Please let me know how your...
