One other thing to consider is how important is weather protection. I owned a GS before my RT. The GS gave less weather protection than my RT. Riding the GS in wet dirty conditions resulted in my lower legs and boots getting covered in dirt, something that does not happen with my RT.

If you buy the ready made splitter then when you come and sell the bike you can put it all back to original and sell the splitter. So effectively the splitter would only cost say £30. What's not to like. Easy stress free solution. Job done. Another good find by David.

Thats a horrible method of splicing into a wire. If you are going to splice into a wire use Pozi-Taps. At least these cause virtually no damage to the wire.
