Re: Kevlar Jeans

Hi buzz, I can recommend Draggin jeans. Not cheap but a premium brand with a solid safety reputation. The extensive knee and backside kevlar weave ‘armour’ does make life a bit sweaty in very hot ambients, as Casbar also made reference to, but personally I get on with them just fine. I’m really more...

Re: Givi tank bags

Hi Duggie, Yes, I use a GIVI ST602 Tanklock Tank bag, 4 litres. Only a tiddler compared to the one you’re looking at, but for me, just right for keeping those frequently and easy to get items, eg phone, cash, passport etc. As simbo says, their tank lock ring ret...

Re: Trip plans for 2019

At the worst, Brexit could introduce the need for a temp visa and possibly a green card for driving/riding through mainland Europe. Not really a big deal, but then if you believe the relentless mainstream media crap and political scaremongering re travel after Brexit, then you won’t want to go anywh...

Re: Introduction

Did you get the one with spade connectors and used one of those "CANBUS wiring adapters"? Thanks. Yes, I used a CANBUS wiring adapter (also from NN) that plugged straight into the bike OEM horn wiring, and the female spade connectors that fitted onto the FIAMM horn male spade connectors. ...

Re: Introduction

I also fitted a FIAMM Mini Blaster to replace the useless OEM pip squeak horn. I fitted it in the same mounting place that the OEM horn was in, using the FIAMM supplied straight mounting bracket. I just tweaked the bracket slightly so that the FIAMM horn, when fitted, didn’t contact the fork tubes o...

Re: Pivoting your bike around on its side-stand

I use a motorcycle dolly to manoeuvre my bikes around the garage. A little bit fiddly to get the bike up on its centrestand in the first instance, but a breeze to move it around in any direction thereafter. I’d be wary of moving/dragging the bike around on the centre stand in any direction other tha...

Re: An unusual request

Thank you and the several others who responded with helpful comments/advice. My enquiry was really about motorcycle clothing (textile jackets/trousers) that is particularly suitable for ostomy users, rather than day to day clothing that can be worn on a motorcycle. Stoma nurses are very helpful in ...

Re: Wired / Wireless intercom?

There will be those who swear by wire and those who like Bluetooth. Myself, I used to use wired, right up until my wifes cable cam adrift from the Helmet extension cable and ended up wrapped around my rear sprocket. That was it for wired for me. I have had a Scala Packtalk for around 4 years now an...

Re: 2016 RT With A Rear Car Tire

It's not so much a case of being hard on the Yank, just that it's regarded to be an extremely foolhardy practice here in the UK (& Europe) which both invalidates your insurance policy (in the event of a claim) and fails the MoT annual roadworthiness inspection. Mind you, this thread makes for in...
