Re: Weave at slow speed

Hi Yes it happens all the time, so not road related and it's brand new so not tyres. I did try it without the panniers the other day and same problem. I've got the 1000km service due soon so will try and explain to the dealer. Cheers. Ian Ian, Just to clarify. You stated 3 mins before the above pos...

Re: Quirky bridge!

Middlesbrough has a transporter bridge over the River Tees, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tees_Transporter_Bridge Oooh! I see your bridge up North has the luxury of a glazed viewing lift to get to the walkway on top. Us poor sods in the South have to make do with umpteen flights of stairs at both e...

Re: 2016 1200RT hopefully

Kimbles, Doubtless you’ve probably read and/or heard about the BMW Insured Warranty. Although at nigh on £400 for a full year’s subscription (this includes full roadside recovery in UK & Europe),it does give peace of mind as and when the 2 yr OEM warranty runs out on your newly acquired 2016 bab...

Quirky bridge!

Very quirky!! The transporter bridge over the River Usk at Newport, S Wales🙂👍. Only a quid to get across too, car or bike! https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=5&ved=0ahUKEwjJ8ISGldHcAhUCI8AKHce4AYsQ_BcIICgBMAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.newport.gov.uk%2Fheritage%2Findex.cfm%2FTra...

Re: Free Play on Both Side Boxes?

On my 2015 RT, there is about 3-4mm of discernible movement if I gently rock the pannier vertically/outwards whilst holding the bottom of the pannier. Everything is fitted where it should be, and the movement I can detect by hand isn’t really of any concern, as the panniers fit snugly and squarely o...

Re: Horn operating at just the wrong moment!

No Steve, I haven’t experienced that with my tank bag installed on my 2015 RT. Admittedly, I’m only using a small GIVI tank bag, so no issue there. The hyperlink to the Wunderlich doesn’t appear to list it as being applicable to a RT bike, and the supporting images show the pre 2014 RT config??&...

Yes, so I see from the Motorrad website that they have gone over to the integrated gearbox with helical gears. So now I am confused as to why this bike is seemingly plagued by a clunky 1st gear selection at idle??!!🤔

Where did you get those emojis? I've been looking for a thumbs up icon on this forum and been unsuccessful  ::)
The emojis are taken from my iPad, part of the standard set on the keypad👍👍😉🙂

Re: Top Box colour and pads query

Yes, I bought this 49 litre BMW top box (silver more than the claimed white colour) from this German internet company. Granted, they’re not cheap, but they are nicely engineered, and the box was delivered to my home address here in the UK without fuss or delay, and suitably packed in bubble wrap ins...

Re: maps missing!!!!!

I’m not alone then on this weird and b.annoying quirk! Last year the wife and I toured France with my Nav 5 sat nav loaded with my Garmin pre-planned route. Likewise, I ensured that my sat nav was uploaded with latest maps software before I set off. My Mac showed that it was up to date. All good so ...

Re: Auxilary elec. point

I recall one of the US forum members hooked up his INNOV camera power source via the tail light wiring. Searching the thread didn’t show up any further details, but I know several other UK members have bike cams fitted. Hopefully they’ll come forward with some pearls of wisdom.🙂 I’m currently using ...

Re: One way to know your battery is dying....

Digressing slightly, but is this known to forum members re buying a new dry battery (ie comes with separate sulphuric acid pack)?? Under recent legislation under the home use of explosives precursors and poisons (EPP),wef July 1st 2018 here in the UK, you won’t apparently...
