Agreed!

The RH compartment is tiny, about the same size as the left, if not smaller. One could just about squeeze an old iPhone 7 in there without a case.

BMW have rectified this on the 2021/2 model with the LED headlight.

Have you thought about a tankbag yet?

Re: 2018 R1200RT Radio Retro Fit

The Alpine radio unit is under the seat, stations are changed using the control wheel and displayed throught the dash. I have not found reception to be brilliant using the standard bike aerial and have fitted an aftermarket DAB radio to the USB port (and fitted separate DAB aerial). You can't hear t...

Re: 2018 LE Bike Specs

The Dynamic Package was extra on an R1200RT LE.

I can't easily find out was what in that pack at that time.

Healight Pro, Rider Modes Pro, Hill Start Control and possibly Gear Shift Assist?

Re: Gold Wing to RT

Sold my gold wing today and put deposit on an RT. I had a k1600 grand america before the wing. It was fun in the twisties but surprisingly wiggly at highway speed. I’m thinking the RT will be fun in the twisties and stable on the highway. The gold wing was very stable and not bad in the twisties, b...

Bearing in mind the number of GS's sold, I'm pleased that he's heard of an RT.

Re: Sat Nav

I am a long-time Garmin user and I don't think you can go wrong with either unit. I have always found the after-sales support of Garmin to be excellent. In the early days of Tom-Tom (8-9 years ago now) , user support came from Holland and was mediocre. Hopefully it is a lot better now. My summary - ...

My 2019 10,000 mile exhaust flap is perfect according to recent inspection.

Make sure the bike software is up-to-date if you buy from a dealer. DAMHIK.

Re: Software bug on 2019 1250RT

How long do these software updates take? Are they normally done routinely during a service or do they need to keep the bike plugged in overnight ? If you don't have the TV screen on the bike, the engine and chasis update could easily be done during the service if you ask for it. TV screen bikes can...

Software bug on 2019 1250RT

Friends who were with me on the Hereford trip will remember that my bike stuttered and then restarted after a couple of attempts. It then ran perfectly for the rest of the trip with the Check Engine light firmly illuminated. Michael thought that it was the exhaust flap seizing so I booked  ...

Re: R1200RT vs ST1300

An acquaintance is still riding his ST1100 with upwards of 200,000 miles. So Honda reliability is still bang on given regular servicing. The others have raised good points. The ST1300 has the better engine - the RT is the better overall package. The Triumph Trophy 1200 triple could also feature in y...

Re: 2006 R1200RT aftermarket mirrors

Hi All The standard mirrors on my RT offer limited rear vision, an issue that I'm sure many RT owners have experienced. They do the job if they're accurately set but they're not perfect. I know some others have fitted aftermarket mirrors on the handlebars and there do seem to be holes that would ac...
