Found this on the RSD DVD I have
It gives the pricing BMW use for each item so you can work out roughly what service work would cost you on the R1200RT LC
By the looks of it you get charged an AW of 5 for any service work Plus the additional costs per item

Re: service costs
With an AW of 5.00 + 2.00 = 7.00, one hour labour = AW 12.00, therefore, the hourly rate is £46.66 / 7 x 12 = £79.99 + VAT = £95.99. https://www.1200rt.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=5958.0;attach=8467;image The Workshop at York, a VAT registered garage charges £48 + VAT = £57.60 per hour. Re: service costs
Still screwed if you want to DIY. Just out of interest what do the terms of conditions say on PCP financed bikes. PCP is not my thing far too expensive in the long term but it is I expect the way the majority of new bikes are sold. So anyone on PCP what does the service conditions say. I'm curious....

Re: service costs
With respect to a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty, I've spoken to both the sales & claims teams. The outcome is as follows, the non-BMW independent garage must be VAT registered. Any parts used must be genuine BMW or of equivalent specification. As my bike will be serviced at a BMW dealer and I'l...

Re: service costs
This is also true of the T&C's for a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty. In 2014, I was told by BMW that the independent garage needed to be VAT registered. I was also told this in June when I bought mine! I don't think its a dealer request I am pretty sure when they changed the law a few years back...

Re: 2015 r1200rt exhaust pop.
I have the stock can on mine and can hear the pops just a little when giving it some
I have always liked the pops and bangs from exhausts! so for me it would be something to leave alone!
Anyway what causes it is unburnt fuel entering the exhaust and igniting in there

No
It had the 12k service last year so all was done well that's what it says in the book!
£149 is literally an oil and filter!

Which means if its a late bike registered in 2018 but classed as a 2019 model it could well be due!
Like mine its a late 2016 but classed as a 2017 model year!

What work has the independent quoted for and as I'm local, which one is it.
Every two years, the oil change in rear bevel gears is due.
Good point! it may well need the brake fluid flushing and the rear drive oil changing
