Here it is, everyone. A filter review

It's gotta be true because it's on the internet! No more filter arguments please!

Re: Oil Filters - OEM or MAHLE

Changing the oil every 2k or LESS.  VERY ECO unfriendly and surely unnecessary. 😱😱😱 I'm no environmentalist. That's for sure!  However, I've learned a lesson long time ago with smoking (albeit due to mfg defect) air cooled bikes in the past, so an ounce (more like a gallon πŸ˜€) of p...

Re: Oil Filters - OEM or MAHLE

Anything related to oil brings interesting forum dialogs. I had not seen one for filters, however. I speculate that OEM, Mahle, K&N and Hi Flo perform above threshold of acceptance, as long as the oil I'd changed frequently. I for one take the more expensive route of changing oil every 2k miles ...

Numb butt

I think I have seen this elsewhere in the forum. I have a low suspension MY 11 with bench seat. I went on a day ride yesterday (6 hours) and came home with a numb butt. I don't have much cushion on my bony butt, I guess. What reasonably-priced options exist that doesn't increase the seat height? (an...

Re: A new (used) RT owner

They don't really need much more protection than the OEM black composite cylinder protectors.  None of them come with a GPS as standard even though you will have the electrical connection built in. A GPS is all I ever added to my 3. I'm planning to replace the pre-scruffed cylinder head co...

'12 Diavel + '93 900 Supersport
The MV was traded in for the RT. So far no buyer's remorse. Actually, I haven't been so excited about a bike (the RT) in a quite a long time!

Re: Scissor jack to lift front wheel

I've used the scissor jack technique with success with multiple bikes. The amount of mass the jack holds isn't much--likely ~100 lbs or so(?) for bikes propped up with center stand. I have seen bike shops place the jack under the header pipes with some bikes (not recommended) My only recommendation ...

Re: 1450 Mile Weekend. NC - NJ and back.

I'd try the Cape May ferry if you want to avoid traffic. (Albeit on weekdays only--back ups on weekends)

Oh, BTW. Sounds like you need to grow some "cushion" to soften the ride ;)

Front suspension damping/preload non ESA

My MY11 without ESA feels under damped when riding with a passenger. I'm 150 lbs and the Mrs is 130 lbs (I've been told).
What aftermarket options do I have?

Re: A new (used) RT owner

This is the first bike in a while where I haven't had crash bars on but the others were adventure bikes with less plastic to lose. So my reasoning for the RT was as follows: For the front bars, any off where they would make a significant different over the regular cylinder head guards is going to w...

Oops. Here's the photo of the rear pannier crash bar in action (with the front crash bar installed, I presume)
