21 R1250RT insurance question

Hi all, I know the UK insurance stuff is weird and I'm still not getting it after 15 years here. So the story and question at this same time is. I'm buying new 21 model, and try to run some quotes for insurance. Already have RT 1250 insured with BeMoto and I'm extreme happy with that so I'll give th...

GPS Security central lock

All parts fit R1250RT 2019. Possible 1200LC but I can't confirm that. Wunderlich GPS security for the RT (with central locking) - This same like OldTimers but from Nippy Normans and under Wunderlich brand. Not even year old - £90 All can be posted, I'm sure we agree for postage :-) or collect from ...

Re: 21 R1250RT and Heed crash bars with aux lights

I have the factory auxiliary lights and HEED bars on my 2019. I didn't need any separate mounts for the lights. Great. Thanks for answer. So one box ticked then. Now it will be great to know if I can fit it to 2021. I assuming it can be possible, as engine and engine mounts are identical. Just fair...

21 R1250RT and Heed crash bars with aux lights

Hi all, Maybe someone did that already. I'm swapping my 2019 1250 to new 2021. I have Heed crash bars fitted in "old" one and would like to transfer them to the new. As the engine and frame is basically this same I hoping that it will be possible, but maybe someone already done that? If ye...

Re: Seriously considering an R1250 RT.... couple of questions for those in the know

-first up, I don't have a smart phone, nor do I want to own one. Am I correct in understanding that the 2021 TFT equipped model can only deliver navigation and music via a smart phone? And that a 2020 model has an integrated GPS system in the dash that doesn't require connection to a phone? Hi lazl...

Re: Media Player - Nav VI

PeteM. Thanks again for tips. Honestly I will never figure out it by myslef. It is so not intuitive that I'm never thought about using it that way. And I'm dead serious, never. I can confirm it is working, but voice commands from my Cardo are way better, quicker, and for me honestly it is still dist...

That's the point. I can't do that. Try many times, and just stop trying.
PeteM do you have full BMW audio system? if not maybe I'm doing something wrong then.

Re: Media Player - Nav VI

My Cardo control music well. Off, On, next song, previous. So it is OK for me. I never browsing my library when I'm riding. Considering that not really the safest way. And browse when I'm stationary even in gloves is OK using nav VI screen. I didn't mentioned about voice commands from headset becaus...

Re: Media Player - Nav VI

To be honest I can't do anything with media on my 2019 as well. I have media as a MP3 stored on unit, headset connected to Nav VI, and phone also via Nav VI. So all like it should be. Never been able to switch song or browse library. I think it might be because I do not have radio system on board. A...

Re: Considering Coming Over from S1000R - What to know?

I have 169cm and 120kg (I think it is 5,6" maybe in imperial) inseam 29". 2019 RT1250 standard seat low position I can manage it, even with my wife. However I found twice that it was a bit too high. One in Pembroke a cyclist just jumped in front of me and I had to do emergency stop. Was a ...

Re: Which Sat. Nav. have you got & why?

I have Nav VI. It came as an add on to my bike. Can't complain. Do the job, no problems. Base Camp isn't the greatest software but can be used, and do the job well. Also I have TomTom 550 which I used on my previous bike. Currently on my wife's bike. I had a bit of problems with TT. Pairing and voic...

Re: ### 2020 R1250RT Leaking Front Brakes After Recall Video ###

The RT is really great bike. I'm sorry you experiencing this kind of problems. I'm not sure if that's the BMW dealers problem or what. I'm starting thinking that in your bike could be faulty also calipers mounts, maybe since the first time they try to tighten calipers. Of course above is only valid ...

Re: Exhaust Flap Bowden cables R1250RT

I have way over 6K miles on mine and didn't noticed any issues at all.
So I'm curious what conditions actually made it worst. I'm riding regardless temp and rain, so can say all weather rider.

Re: Poll of Tyre Options - R 1200/1250 RT

Currently I'm on the new Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE. The new one. So far I have comparison to the factory Metz Z8 on my bike. But they feel better, more precise on the road.
Also they are great on wet. Had few days in rain and I felt very confident.
So far very happy with them.
