Re: Centre stand security
Cymark do them for the GS/A’s and they obviously make a profit… and I did suggest it several posts ago 🤣 E7447EBD-C44B-408B-9871-47BDA848FA06.png We just need the shaped piece of metal and a diagram of the correct location (in exchange for folding beer tokens) then we can get it welded and send it o...

Re: Centre stand security
Resurrecting an old thread - Did you ever keep any measurements/sketches after designing this marvellous piece of mechanical wizardry Sakm? I’ve recently come into possession of a spare centrestand and can hopefully get it made up locally, as I have no welding gear and my ‘O’ level metalwork skills ...

Re: Battery Life
I replaced my battery on my 2016 last year more out of precaution really! The battery was good but a couple of times I had the bike not turn over and the clocks reset so I thought best to be safe than sorry :) Always a good indication that your battery’s on its way out, mine was replaced for the sa...

I bought the Yuasa YTX20CH-BS from Tanya, same size as standard but higher rate, and recommended by Yuasa for the RTLC.

Re: Denali Horn
I have the Denali one piece horn on the RT but far preferred the Nautilus horn that I had fitted to my old ST1300. To my ears there appears to be a momentary pause between pressing the horn button and the sound emitting, whereas it was immediate with the latter.

Re: Battery Life
Mine sits on a CTEK when it’s not in use, I’ve done this with all my bikes and it’s never caused me a problem.

Re: Free Shaft replacement from BMW
No, my 2018 hasn’t had a dealer service in the last 4 years, but I still received a letter from BMW to get the shaft checked along with the footrests and ECU update FOC.

These may help though I can't find the video and can only assume it' been taken down. These older posts refers to similar problems - https://www.bmwlt.com/threads/front-fairing-removal-problem-led-headlight-install.192909/ https://www.1200rt.com/viewtopic.php?t=3045&sid=9dd96033f23c7f153e735f419...

Re: Sargent seat
The UK importer is Calamander I believe, you can send it back if it doesn’t suit you, but from what I’ve heard he (understandably perhaps?) won’t be happy to refund. Seats are like screens, I’ve always put Sargents on my touring bikes but what suits me may not suit you… they do come up 2nd hand. My ...

Re: Bench lift
Hah… tidy garage! Lots of space now 😊 Prompted by shame and a nice day for the bike to be wheeled out, enforced by the fact I didn’t shut the freezer door properly and it was totally iced up 🙄 so I had to tidy up for space to empty it out. But now it’s done and I’ve just enough time polish my halo! ...

Re: Recall work
A footnote to this thread - After Bahnstormers BMW replacing the shaft free of charge last month (thank you 👍) I’ve since noticed that on a couple of occasions the rear rubber gaiter had become misplaced, thus exposing the shaft to water ingress. This of course happened in style as I hadn’t noticed ...
