Re: BMW R1200RT Cam alignment tools

I’ve not had a great deal of time lately but I’m going to email bmw motorrad complaints department as to why they will not sell me the tools I need to service my RT out of warranty. Also if anyone here knows where I can hire the cam alignment jigs and the cam chain tensioner tool for a 1250 motor pl...

Not a recall exactly, but if you ask your dealer about it they should change it, if not I don’t think they are to expensive to buy. If the nut head is 17mm you have the original tensioner, if it’s 19mm the updated one has been fitted.

Re: Workshop Manual - Tick

Got the bike back today from its service, valves were all in spec so no adjustment. Asked them to have a listen, they recon its sound's fine.. assuming its just normal, engine loosening off with miles? One of my mates has a 2021 RT, will have a listen to his next time I see him.. I wouldn’t worry a...

Re: BMW R1200RT Cam alignment tools

I suspect they are doing this so people take their bikes to the dealers! Which I thought this was illegal now? I thought they had to supply all the relevant tools for traders to be able to service bikes independently I would complain before cancelling as a complaint may get a set to you quicker :? ...

Re: Just bought a Sargent seat but bits missing ?

£2.85 from Amazon and 2 x M6 cap heads, perfect! And now supports the seat on the frame rails In the high position.
Seat has been well used but has cleaned up nice and both heating elements work. Not bad for £200 delivered 😃

Re: Just bought a Sargent seat but bits missing ?

The cut outs are part of the design, I thought they would be a problem with it but have found the seat very comfortable. I'll have a look at the rubbers tomorrow & post up. Thanks 👍, that would be great. The manual has a picture of them but the depth / height of the rubber part would be useful.

Re: Just bought a Sargent seat but bits missing ?

Just had a look at mine, the two rubber things are used no matter what position the seat is in, low or hight. The diameter is 25mm. Guess you know the thread size. Thanks for the reply, I wondered if they might have changed the design for the same model , the one I bought has a manufacturing date i...
