Re: Quiet helmet recommendations?

I know what you mean, I have tried various makes and find Arai fit best, but not the quietest. Good luck.

Re: Quiet helmet recommendations?

All helmets vary from person to person, all down to head shape, what is quiet for one is not for another. Have you tried ear plugs? although personally I don't like wearing them.

Re: Are you a hero in the turns?

In the UK we have many roads that have plenty of bends in them, espacially in the Yorkshire Dales where I do most of my riding. Have seen quite a few bikes that have tyres scrubbed right to the edge and also too many bikers that end up badly injured or dead because they ride beyond their limits tryi...

Re: Conspicuity

Blimey Pete didn't realise that 'conspicuity' was a word lol. The black reflective tape looks good, far more descreet than the usual hi-viz stuff. Think I'll give it a try cheers.

Re: DataTag Found

Judging by the very modest insurance discounts, that would tend to suggest insurers don't hold Data Tag in high regard? and the cost of buying is not outweighed by the insurance discount.

Re: DataTag Found

Bought my bike used, supposedly , has been Data Tagged, confirmed that it is registered with them. Have shone UV light all over bike and cannot see marking anywhere?

Thank you, so to clarify and quote, 'it is recommendation only and not the law'. Thanks for clarifying.

Re: It's here, with an unexpected gift

RTman10, I'm not being argumentative in any way, but have researched BSAU159f and cannot see anything that states Z rated tyres cannot be repaired. Can you provide a link to any regulations that shows this please?

Re: TPS Battery

Having had the unnerving experience of front tyre puncture, I think TPS is a lifesaver. Better to let the bike tell you that you have a slow leak rather than lose handling and control. Is your life and family worth more than a few quid for TPS?

Re: It's here, with an unexpected gift

Rather than rely on well intentioned but not legally reliable advice, I prefer to get info from source, cannot see anything about competent tyre repair being unlawful (in UK)?

Death of a biker- Drink Drive petition

Attached link is for a petition regarding heavier sentences for drink driving. I have no connection with the family, but the biker was killed on one of my regular routes. Please sign and help the cause - https://www.change.org/p/tougher-sentences-for-drivers-who-kill-other-road-users-whilst-driving-...

Re: My 1st ride home...!

When you refer to the suspension 'issue', do you mean the difference between comfort, normal, sport modes? If so  try riding on a few undulating B roads and experiment with the modes, there should be a distinct difference, I noticed it on mine very soon after buying it. Good luck.
