hi Folks, I'm new to the forum. Recently got a 2012 R1200RT. Very pleased with it.

I was thinking, since my local dealer doesn't sell them, that I could perhaps order a "set" from the USA or UK. That was why I posted in the forum.

Before tearing things down, you might check the availability for shims at your dealer. Some dealers hoard the shims for their own shop work. Have already done this. My local dealer doesn't sell them, but told me they will exchange for $15 from their "workshop stock". Seems strange to me -...

Seems strange to me - you would think that the aim of a business is to sell a product and thereby to make money.

Hello Folks, I am planning to check the valve clearances on my Rt for the first time. Where are you all getting your shims from? I saw some on ebay, but they appear only to be for the LC models. Mine is 2012 (DOHC oil cooled). I'd appreciate any ideas.
