Re: Hex EzCan
Yeah, definitely worth it. I've got a pair of Denali D2 and DRL that melt the tarmac up front, a Sound Bomb if I need to make my presence heard and an extra brake light at the back to remind the dozy. The controller allows you to do 'things' with them other than just switch them on/off. It's pretty ...

Re: Aux Light Brackets
I've got a pair of lights mounted under the mirrors / indicators on my R1250RT. Expensive for what's really just two brackets, two bits of bent metal and a few bolts, but they're well made and look almost OEM. The only proviso is that because the lights are so close to the indicators they need to be...

Re: There all the same now
I also find universal the snub nosed headlight, Power Ranger / Transformer styling of so many naked bikes makes them all look the same. Throw in the lack of raised mudguard rear end and it just makes it worse. What we need is someone who's handy with photoshop to debrand a few, then set up a identif...

Re: I think the R1250RT is for me, have I overlooked anything?
Don't forget the RT as an inbuilt seat lowering bracket. It literally is just a 30 second, no tools needed job to flip the bracket to the 'low' height side. If seat height is a concern get the dealer to change it to it's lower setting before going out for a test ride or look up how to do it yourself...

Re: Handlebar Extender
Thanks Rayweal, just the type of thing I needed know. Having a polished St Steel surface may look pretty, but may not be practical. I'll rough the surface up with some course grit paper before installation.

Re: deluxe headlight
The build spec for my '18 R1250RT LE spec says it has it as well. I've no idea what's 'Deluxe' about it, it looks like every other pre LED headlight fitted to an RT since the 1200 update in 2014 to me.

Re: Headlight protector
"I would have thought black ones would look better." Ah yes, I thought that when I fitted mine and ordered a set of black Velcro discs from Amazon, even paid a bit more for the hard plastic, extra strong, waterproof type. It was only when I pealed off the protective paper covering the self...

Roadside Tools
Like many others I carry a very basic toolkit with me at the bottom of my pannier. It's only enough to tighten or adjust something that might need it, a few cable ties, a mini roll of tape and what seems like nowadays the obligatory tubeless puncture repair kit & inflator, but why? A knackered b...
Re: Torx
I carry this little bit set with me as part of a very basic toolkit. The set doesn't have screw handle, but my Leatherman has a 1/4" hex slot which will do in an emergency. I figure I'm only ever going to be tightening up or adjusting something lose at the side of the road. Anything more and ou...

Re: Screen wanted
There's a Wunderlich Touring Screen for sale in the erm, 'For Sale' section. If it's the Marathon screen they're bloody good in the winter but perhaps a bit too protective for summer.
Re: Torx
It's worth buying a few spare M5 flange head screws for the bodywork, at some point you will loose or misplace the odd one or two. I bought some Stainless Steel ones from Ebay and they're look every bit as good as the OEM ones.

Re: Adaptive cruise control
I've had adaptive cruise control on three cars (all Toyota) and their system does seem to work well on motorways & dual carriageways, if you like sitting in a queue! It's all too easy to suddenly realise, hang on a sec, I've slowed down and been following this car for, for hmm, how long without ...

Accident, Insurance Companies & Afterwards
Really worth watching and taking onboard about what to do after an accident and the pitfalls / dubious methods of how some insurers operate.
