Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

Thanks to all who replied here.  A bit more on this:  I checked the voltage across the plug coming to the seat - 13.5v.  Then I checked the BMW seat which showed a continuous circuit and resistance around 6 ohms.  The Sargent showed neither of these.  The...

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

I think the fuses are okay. Unless there's a hidden discrete fuse for the seats, there are only two on the 2016. Both control lots of stuff an everything else works. Actually the heated seats don't show on the which fuse controls what chart. Helpful.....

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

Apologies for going back over old ground. A few weeks back I posted that my Sargent seat appeared not to be heating (thanks to those who responded).  Well, there's more....  Yesterday I swapped back to the original BMW seat, and that's not heating either.  I've not had tim...

Re: Nautilus Horn fitting problems

Hi Beejay, Yes, weird isn't it.  I was wondering about one of these : https://www.nippynormans.com/f800r-f800s-f800st/denali-split-sound-bomb-120db-horn as the individual components would be easier to house.  I've currently got a previous Stiebel, smaller and does not need a relay,...

Re: Nautilus Horn fitting problems

Hi BeeJay Glad you got there in the end!  I think that it was on left lock that the hose rubbed on mine.  Yes they sound terrific.  The other bit of fun I had with mine was when the relay in the NN kit failed and it stick on while I was riding up the A34 early one morning....

Re: Nautilus Horn fitting problems

Hi Bee Jay I bought the horn and bracket and had to return it in the end.  Slightly different problem though because mine was rubbing on the brake line, not touching the forks.  You can see how it chafed the horn too.  The Denali seemed to have the same issue.  To...

Sargent (un) heated seat

Good afternoon all, and a Happy New Year! Slight problem with a Sargent front seat on my 2016 RT.  No heat! I've had it on there for a while after buying it from a genuine guy who was selling his RT, but now it seems to have developed this issue. Has anyone else had an issue?  Anyo...

Sargent seat heating

Afternoon All, It's getting a bit brrr now and this morning I noticed that my Sargent seat is not getting hot.  I bought it in the summer from a guy who has sold his RT and it is in really good nick.  I'm guessing it should be plug'n'play (or heat) but it isn't.  Has anyon...

Re: Nav v time

Tried my Nav V yesterday on my 2016 RT & date/time were correct on the bike after a couple of minutes till GPS connected to sat's. That's what my Nav 6 did too.  I had the Nav 5 before that and don't remember ever having to adjust the time so it must grab that info once it has found sa...

Re: 500+ mile days.

I suspect the difference in doing big miles in a day on either side of the pond would be traffic.  Over here in UK, around the major cities it gets very congested.  Also our minor roads are often single track between high hedges and can have grass growing up the centre.  F...

Re: Recommended tyres enquiry – RT1250.

PR4GTs about to come off at 7k miles.  Gone  bit square on the back now and the front is starting to cup.  Interestingly I think the front is more worn than the rear.  Will probably go same again or may try the new 5s.

Re: Bird strike

Ooh lucky one.  When I had my 1300GT I collected it from Bahnstormer after servicing, all clean and shiny.  Had been having a long discussion with my IAM observer at the time about being closer to hedges on right handers; something I'd been wary of coming from Devon because things ...

Re: 2019 Highlands Tour

It does indeed, I used it up there in June.  Apparently if the little buggers pitch on you it drowns them before they bite (according to a local).  Certainly worked though.  It also made me feel guilty about suggesting an alternative to one of my more gullible acquaintance...

Re: Cylinder head protection

The cylinder head protector protects the cylinder head.......  Halfords bumper strips protected the panniers.  As you said Casbar if you are moving at any appreciable speed or hit anything then you'll have a lot more to think about anyway.
