Re: Unused electrical connector under left side fairing

If you purchase the BMW auxilliary lights, you will get the brackets, two lamps, the handlebar switch and the loom segment that connect all three components to this connector. It is not enabled by default, BMW will enable it if you fit the lights yourself but I doubt they will oblige for any non OEM...

Re: Cost to Change - £'s

PCP is a very clever product for the dealer and an enticing one for the customer. The average PCP customer replaces his bike every 3 years. He pays lower than normal HP payments has a new bike every three years and always in warranty. So what's not to like ? The cost longterm. The last time I looke...

Re: Exhaust Flap Valve stuck at around 1000 miles - is this a record?

Not sure if it has been mentioned before, my exhaust was replaced on Saturday due to the seized flap, a quote from Reiten Motorrad is that the replacement part is a new part number which has been modified by BMW and none of the ones changed so far have been back. I am unsure as to what has been chan...

Re: Interesting Read about Insurance/Tax/MOT (U.K.)

Can you name a defect that would result in an MOT failure but where the vehicle would remain above the minimum standards of roadworthiness?

You either get it repaired in-situ and retested or tow it away and get it repaired - then drive it to another pre-booked appointment.

Re: Interesting Read about Insurance/Tax/MOT (U.K.)

Not correct, it only applies if it is dangerous/unroadworthy. If you have a non dangerous fault, say a blown bulb (and it is daylight),there is no requirement to tow or trailer If it fails the MOT it is unroadworthy and unlawful to drive on a public highway either from the test center or indeed to ...

Re: Interesting Read about Insurance/Tax/MOT (U.K.)

You can ride/drive your vehicle without an MOT if you are going to or from a pre arranged MOT or place of repair. If your vehicle doesn’t have an MOT and you have booked one and it subsequently fails and you are returning home this is perfectly legal, same with taking it to be repaired after it has...

Re: ebay is easy but!

EBay will rarely be the cheapest for any like for like, from new purchase as you have two middle men lining their pockets but those middle men are providing a service that adds value. Whether that added value is £8 or not is personal. Most online shops take orders 24/7, Amazon process and despatch 2...

Re: ebay is easy but!

I was using your Amazon price vs. the indy price. £2, but £8 or £2 doesn't really change anything. And the principle is this: Purchase Price + Delivery + (Time Taken x Value of Your time) + Convenience Factor + Risk = Total Cost For some people (Myself included) the extra £2 to Amazon adds more than...

Re: ebay is easy but!

Not a criticism, if it makes you happy then crack on. But £2 off isnt a bargain to everyone and sometimes when you share your elation at saving £2, expect a few  ???

Re: ebay is easy but!

First line said it all, convenience. If I decide I want something it's usually now, now, now. For items that I buy as infrequently as once a year I don't really bother comparing or shopping around. The little time I have left after work and family commitments are removed, I'd rather spend riding my ...

Re: ebay is easy but!

'tis true. EBay started as an online auction and personally that is all I would ever use it for. All this 'Buy it Now' nonsense is flooded with counterfeits and as you quite rightly point out, more expensive. Amazon is also convenience over price. It should come as no suprise that every middle man i...
