Re: Innovv Dual Camera dashcam installed on R1200RT LC
I had to import my motorbike one from Hong Kong. The car one is more easily available, although the 'UK' seller I bought from turned out to be based in the USA.

Re: Is this R1200RT the right bike for me? Need advice.
I don't know the Norge so I can't give you a direct comparison so I'll give you my experience as an ex-F800 rider and a relatively new RT owner. The F800 has a very low centre of gravity, what with the fuel tank being under the seat. That makes it very easy and confidence-inspiring to chuck around q...

Re: BMW R1200RT On Order
The dealer should definitely be able to give you an update. Once they log the order into their system they can track it at every stage through the factory. I also ordered mine in late October / Early November (last year) and picked it up a few days before Christmas. Six weeks on the nail from order ...

Re: connection problems with connection between navigator V and Packtalk re MP3 play
So do you have the radio on your bike, I guess not, because the mp3 player on the Nav V is disabled on my bike. And as I said I have no issue playing music through the audio connection or the radio. Some clarity needed I guess. The Scala devices (like most I guess) can connect to two separate BT de...

Re: connection problems with connection between navigator V and Packtalk re MP3 play
I recently upgraded from a Scala Q3 to a Packtalk and I ran into the same problem. For me the MP3 audio (in my case coming in from the audio system on the bike) would be fine until there was an audio prompt from the Nav V. After that the music becomes broken with increasingly long pauses. Powering t...

Re: new 2017 R1200RT Battery charging
The beauty of the Optimate (at least the one I have) is that it can change mode either to charge the battery directly via a 'pigtail' or to do so via a power socket utilizing the Canbus. Best of both worlds as I can use it to charge more than just my BMW bike.

Re: Garmin, why the fascination with farm tracks?
I have lost count of how many years I have been using Garmin units for so I guess I have just become accustomed to this particular 'feature'. It's a common topic on family holidays when we know the route will take us down at least one 'detour'. As has been stated above, the answer is to actually loo...

Re: Innovv Dual Camera dashcam installed on R1200RT LC
One piece of advice with regard to fitting. The control units on these systems tend to get warm and in the absence of airflow they cook themselves and stop working. I have lost two (one bike, one car) this way. I managed to shoe-horn the control unit for the bike under the rear seat which I think wa...

Re: High octane fuel - worth the extra for the LC?
I'm fairly sure I posted this up somewhere else but I'll repeat it here. Having been a long-time user of supermarket petrol I switched 'temporarily' to branded fuel due to a really good introductory deal at a new petrol station on my route to work. The result was an increase of around 10% (on a good...

Re: Remus headers and slip on
I have fitted a Remus slip-on to my 2017MY bike and I'm happy with it (I accept the risks around warranty and preferred to spend half the price of the BMW Akrapovic equivalent). I have looked at the headers but decided not to fit them. However, everything I read when I was looking said that the bike...

Re-formatting the card should recover it (although not the files) so I wouldn't bin it if I were you. Either way, sorry you had to learn this lesson the hard way and good luck with future filming.

Re: R1200rt "speakers off" how to turn on?
The audio system manual (2013->) can be found via the following page. http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/index.html?content=http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/services/manuals/manuals_main.html¬rack=1 I just took a look and read the following: Call up the Settings menu and select Audio - Loudspeaker...

Re: Faulty Video Codec
I feel bad saying it but I suspect the 'codec' message is symptomatic of file corruption, rather than actually being a real codec issue. In simple terms VLC is telling you it doesn't recognise the format of the file (that's what it means by the codec). Given that it would normally recognise a file g...

Re: R1200rt "speakers off" how to turn on?
On my 2016 LC it's a menu option, under the audio settings. You can turn the speakers on or off there.
