Re: Annual meet 2023 Discussion Thread

Yes, sorry I've taken my eye off the ball recently. Re-entered the world of employment and its taken up my time. However, I've struggled on with basecamp and created a route which I'll put out in a couple of weeks, just need to fine tune it. Still don't really understand the basecamp software but gi...

Re: International Driving Permit

Went down to the post office and got an IDP, looks similar to a 1940's identity document. A piece of grey card with rubber stamps all over it and hand written entries.

I don't mind getting one if it's necessary but not just for the sake of it.

International Driving Permit

Sorry if this has been asked before (couldn't find much on a search). Now we've left the EU what are the requirements for having an IDP when riding or driving abroad? Looked on the gov.uk website and it mentions not necessary if you have a UK photo licence but I've just booked trips to France (bike ...

Re: Back protectors moan

Why is it that some companies sell jackets/coats without back protectors? I visited a bike clothing store this morning, just to be nosey. There were a few jackets that didn't come with back protectors. These were not cheap items. A couple was over £2000GBP for a full set(Top and Bottoms). I asked t...

Re: Half of Europe Has Gone Missing

Hi All, City Navigator Europe NTU 2017.1 shows all of Europe. However, my original Navigator V packed up so they sold me a replacement for 100 quid or so and after installing the SD Card and actually having to buy the latest Europe map, City Navigator Europe NTU 2023.2, I now only see half of Europ...

Re: Is the extended warranty worth it?

Push the bike into the workshop, plug it into the computer, print out the fault, clear the fault, test the battery and push it back out of the workshop.

70 quid. At least they gave me a discount, should have been a 100 (minimum charge). What have I got to moan about?

Re: Is the extended warranty worth it?

Mixture Preparation Fault- whatever that means. Yes it was cleared.

I think the simple answer is not to use the kill switch to stop and start the bike. I'll probably part ex the bike in the next 12 months so hopefully it won't be a problem.

Is the extended warranty worth it?

I know people have debated the merits of the extended warranty before and I've always taken it out. However, todays experience makes me question the value of it. Took my bike into North Oxford for a starter button issue (described on another thread). Videoed the problem because it was bound to corre...
