Re: Nav V
I agree with the comments about lack of lock on the 1200RT WC. I have lost one satnav and the replacement has fallen out twice. Pathetic design fault by BMW.

Re: Kill switch
Mine wasn't a recall. Just a duffer from the delivery.

Re: Kill switch
I picked mine up in April. Kill switch and ignition switch were US. No problem with replacement.

Re: Grip Puppies
I would agree. I have had them for the last 5-6 years. Possibly the heat takes a fraction longer to get through but it does not cause any problems.

Re: 2011 R1200 RT
I had problems with the vibes because of a wrist injury. I fitted Grip Puppies and they removed the problem altogether. Highly recommended!

3 month warranty extension
There is an unsubstantiated rumour on a UK site that BMW UK are offering a 3 month warranty extension for recalled bikes. Apparently a letter has been leaked. Interesting!

OEM LED LIGHTS
Has anyone fitted OEM LED additional lights on a 2014 RT?
Thinking about having them installed on mine after seeing lack of visibility of an RT following me for a few miles. Not sure if I am a fan of the "angel eyes" after struggling to spot the following RT.

Re: K1600 vs R1200RT
I changed from the 1600GT to the 1200RT WC in April. Main reason for change was that pillion felt unsettled by the power available. Great vote of confidence in my riding ability! After a bit of re-adjustment to the boxer vibration and reduced power I have loved the ride. The weight differential is ...

Re: Retro Fit
I considered the same when the dealer forgot to order the audio system on my last K1600. I decided against it on price grounds, but have it on the new RT. The radio is great. I am a Radio 4 fan and speech is clear and intelligible at over the ton with plugs in. I use moulded plugs with a 22db insert...

Sorry to hear that. I am sure you will love the bike when we eventually get them back. It handles beautifully.

Re: Hi there peeps...
I've had a couple of European trips since picking it up including a run down to Italy. After the K1600 I found it a bit vibey to begin with but this seemed to smooth out after a couple of thousand miles. I did miss the power of the K at first but eventually got back into boxer mode. Had the offside ...
