Re: Yorkshire Wolds June 25th

^ Do you generate route files on a computer and then dump them into the phone? I understood that the BMW nav app uses the Tomtom algorithm to convert the gpx file into a route file. Just thinking out loud but a gpx file can be interpreted differently by garmin and tomtom as they use different algori...

Re: Yorkshire Wolds June 25th

Back in my RT days we used to strap a self contained GPS device to the bike and away we went. I realise that things have moved on now. Does the all singing and dancing TFT unit act like a Carplay system (among other things) and mimic the BMW Connected App programme on your phone? If so, how do you l...

Good to see you younglings following the army theme as military discipline will apply for the entirety of the event. Do you boys good.

Prefer Admiral Hornblower but I suppose the Northern Monkeys do a fair rendition of the chaos that is Dad's Army. So that's the Captain and Private Pike so far.............

Re: Peak District 25th June 'Postponed'

Right chaps I have found it difficult planning a decent Peak District ride starting and finishing at the NCMM. There are much better alternatives if anyone is keen to do a Peak District ride, so I'll save that for a later date and suggest an alternative event which will not prove disappointing. See ...

Re: 03/06/23 Northern Monkeys - Central Meet

Enjoyed meeting up and our chat today. Nice to meet your mates from home and to see that your RT still looks mint. I have sent a pm regarding my surgical appliance which seemed to interest one of your buddies. Such things are best kept private, in order that unintended offence to the feint of heart ...

Re: Peak District 25th June

At the height of the fuel price crisis, the 'tight wad' Monkeys came up with this masterplan to get ahead of the curve. Didn't last long as they kept falling out as to who was going to steer. https://i.postimg.cc/W1kc7fVQ/SW2.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/MGJ23bKX/SW1.jpg This later shot shows the boys a...

Re: Peak District 25th June

I would be up for a ride around the Peak District on the 25th June, it's approx 60 - 90 minutes from Telford to Castleton, I might even be able to persuade 3 Royal Enfield riders to join if allowed. Hi Glen, I reckon if a Suzi is acceptable, then Royal Enfields will be a shoe in. Not sure just yet ...

Re: Peak District 25th June

The RT meet is usually the second weekend in July, that would be 12th, 13th & 14th in 2024, with the day ride out being on Saturday 13th. Well bugger me, that's the same weekend as the ferret racing and whippet show. Already got mi tickets. When you was a lad motorcyles were'nt invented! You us...

If SSS refers to Suzi......I'll be busy, when is it?
