Re: BMW Guards have removed paint!!

Hi, most of the observations about the head covers having been repaired seems right, colours seem off. There also should be a gap between the protector cover and the head as pointed out already. I fitted the aluminium covers to my 2010 model, I got them as a salvage a [size=2px]pparently they came f...

Re: Humble Pie

Hi, going back to the original thread. I did it the other way round. After returning to two wheels after a few decades got the CBF1000 as it was the only sensible bike I could get my feet down on. After putting 10k on that in 18 months found the one I wanted, a factory lowered RT with a low seat. Ha...

Re: My 2016 R1200RT report

I have a 660 as well and it works reasonably well except with the sun at certain angles hitting the screen. I paired a SENA blue tooth to it so only glance at the screen to check if the junction is a little complex or roads close together. Worked brilliantly on a trip to Lucca, Italy when it found t...

Re: To ACF50 or not to ACF50

Just washed the bike today, it gets used for commuting except in extreme conditions (driving rain or snow & ice). Roads not gritted down here but lots of wet debris to throw all over the bike. I dried the bike off outside in a reasonable breeze then in the garage before coating with ACF50 from a...

Re: Motorcycle Tour Operators or DIY

Hi, I've yet to use a tour operator for anything in Europe or the States, either car of bike. There is enough info out there to make your own one up and that adds to the build up. It takes a bit of effort trawling the various sites but quite manageable with a decent internet connection. Also modern ...

Re: Poll of Tyre Options - R 1200 RT, K26 (2012)

Hi, I bought my RT twin cam in May and so far covered 8,000miles. This included a 2000mile round trip to Lucca. They came fitted with BT030, not sure what mileage they had. Changed them recently for another set of BT030 as the front was squaring slightly although enough tread for another 1000+ . Dec...
