Re: Crud Catcher
I have always been reluctant to put things around the jugs, for the same reason I would be reluctant to install this crud-catching thingie. I suspect that, when you put those cylinder protection covers or this crud eliminator, you block air flow unto the engine. And I am guessing that designers coun...

Gas Cap Problems
I have seen a couple of mentions on 'not being able to open a gas cap'
Is there any aftermarketeers that sell a mechanical replacement gas cap for a 1250 RT?

Re: Crud Catcher
If you bolt an engine protector on, doesn't that just trap all the crap behind it? The purpose of an engine protector is the same as a sump guard to stop something damaging the engine. If you just want to keep debris from marking the casing, then a fender extender does the job. But if you want to r...

Re: 2009 fuel gauge, possible sensor problem
I had a 2009 RT (my first one) I had to take to the shop 5 times to install a new fuel-sensor strip...luckly, it was all under warranty.
That's one of the ailments of that model

School on this please....
...cause I don't see no sene on putting a plate infront ot the engine block so that now you have to clean the plate.
Why not just install a fender extender; there is probably a bunch in the market

Re: R1250RT board?
Some riders of the 1250 GS have reported weird noises coming out of the engine to which the Beemer shop appears to fix right away with the "they all do that" treatment. It works everytime at Corp. The guys with RT are reporting a exaggerated vibration during acceleration. Some claim it wen...

Re: R1250RT board?
Ok, I 'll buy the consensus: "no need for a 1250 board" so then, can we get 1250 owners to give us some 'Howzit' reports on ownership: any quirks? any happies? any regrets? if you owned a 1200 before, any differ? was it worth it to trade a 1200? I am not really interested in articles or te...

Re: Back to RT1200
I had a pigtail with a fuse lower than 25watts and everytime I hook up the portable air compressor it would blow the fuse. I actually threw away one compressor thinking it was broke; A mech in Dallas while on the road schooled me on that them pigtails usually have smaller fuses that can only handle ...
