Jack Hope your not aching too much this morning, usually after a getoff  on bicycle the next day brings out the worse!! I would definitely have the bike inspected by a BMW dealer for any hidden damage. Was the other party sited for illegal turn? I would think there insurance would take care...

Re: Oil filter storage - use or bin ?

As long as they were dry and not exposed to moisture you should be OK using them
FYI: I buy all my filters by the case, motorcycles, cars and plane, never a issue and they are stored in a unheated hanger

Re: Ideas for additional RT-LC storage space - flat repair kit etc

I have used M5 thumb screws. Something like these work well - https://www.rosscastors.co.uk/15mm-m5-x-15mm-male-thumb-screw.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9bmk0paZ4wIVmPhRCh1z0Ai7EAQYAiABEgKt0vD_BwE Now you have a great idea, I wouldn’t recommend first aide...

Re: Getting On The Bike

I always put my weight ,(14 stone) on the left peg when swinging aboard the RT, no probs with side stand, it's pretty meaty and strong. PS. can't ride or do anything now for 3 months and continuing since I snapped the Achilles tendon in my right ankle putting my Honda Crosstourer on it's centre sta...

Re: Oil Level in the Viewing Window

Manual for 15 RT shows oil capacity 4L or 1.1 gallons
If i’am using Castrol the bike gets 1 gallon
If i’am using the rebranded Shell it gets 4L, I do the service so I know it’s not getting overfilled

Re: Price gougers!

Careful with the filters with nut on bottom (K&N) the quality isn’t there. Correct filter tool can be had from Beemer boneyard quite reasonably in price as can filters in bulk
They may also have your windshield bracket
Keep ridding

Re: Tool Storage on R1250RT

I get when I used to ride bikes in the early 70s carrying various bits and bobs, But with modern bikes, what is the benefit of carrying plugs, front wheel removal tool etc. I have covered over 40,000 miles on RTs and never had to change the plugs at the road side. The only issue I have had was a pu...
