Re: NEW TO THE SITE - IMPRESSED

The Bike which I Part Ex'd is up for £8,450, the Gross P/Ex Value is £6,850, that's £1,600 mark up. I wonder how much it will be in the sale, gives you an example & some idea of where to start from with any negotiations on price, particularly if you don't have a Part Ex yourself. This bike has ...

Re: Help on Tyre Options - R 1200 RT, K26 (2012)

I replaced my Contis at 6300 miles but could have stretched them to 7000 miles. Will be interested in how long the Z8's last on your LC. The Z8 is the only tyre now listed by BMW for both the Twin Cam & LC RT's, although the version code on the Front is now (M) for the LC, previously Standard. ...

Re: Time for new tyres soon

Interesting, I was at a Local Friendly BMW Dealer today, discussing tyres & was told that PR4's don't last very long & go out of shape quickly.

Re: 2011 R1200RT Brakes

These were the Pads which I bought for a 2007 RT (same for 2011), they were purchased from MotorWorks. EBC FA335HH front caliper brake pad set EVO BREMBO. The calipers these fit have BMW on the outside face and BREMBO stamped on the inner face. From my experience, Brembo are better than EBC. http://...

Re: To ACF50 or not to ACF50

ACF-50 must be good because, "The US Navy carried out tests using ACF-50 on the jets on their Aircraft Carriers. They found that ACF-50 so significantly reduced the corrosion they had previously experienced they now use ACF-50 all the time!"

Re: 2011 R1200RT Brakes

Once tried EBC Pads, they were no good & I threw them away. On this occasion, I have to agree, only use Genuine BMW stuff. Fairly straight forward to replace, taking the calipers off makes it easier to push the pistons back without damaging the discs. On my 2007 RT, had the Front discs replaced ...
