Well, I was wrong. The dealers haven't replaced the casings, they've fitted a new 'short' engine and final drive ! Happy days

Re: How many RT LC owners actually have problems / issues?
Well mind's gone in today for the corrosion warranty. They've said if I was paying for it the amount would be Β£7500, but since BMW are getting the parts at trade, it's costing them Β£5500 to replace the engine casing, cylinder heads and final drive. Mileage, 6385.

Re: Budget Tyres ?.
Personally and no offence intended to anyone, but those little rubber bands are all that stands between joyful riding and an early grave... I could tell you several circumstances where with all the best intentions, someone has decided to save a few quid and paid the ultimate price. Best not to scrim...

Re: 2016 RT With A Rear Car Tire
Do you know, I think I'll put 4 M/c tyres (for those on the wrong side of the pond, tires) on my car and watch the MOT testers have a heart attack laughing ! By all of your reasoning, I don't do much on the straight, country Twisties mainly ...

Ragged all the time, why not, I'm not paying for it.. However on a positive note, the guys do service them when needed. Still work well and respond well, all we have to do is clean 'em

Re: How many RT LC owners actually have problems / issues?
The last image is similar to the corrosion I'm suffering. Bevel box but I'm also dubious about a local albeit BMW trained staff, doing a full rebuild of the engine in a workshop that's nothing like the assembly plant that constructed it...........

Re: How many RT LC owners actually have problems / issues?
Got minor corrosion on bevel box and front of cylinders where joint to sleeve is. BMW have agreed to replace the full engine casing, cylinders and rear drive/bevel box. Doing it in October after the workshop is clear of new registrations.

Re: Luddites
My boss called me a Luddite once. I retorted" I've never been to Ludddington and you were born in Goole". The North Lincs personnel laughed at my local wit. :) [/quote Ancient gothic rumors state that if you don't leave Goole by the time it gets dark, you'll end up wit...
