Re: Server moved to new location

I don't have to log in, that works just fine.

Came back after a few weeks. Still have the challenge questions.

This is simply ridiculous. There is no excuse I can fathom for doing this.

If you don't want someone around, I guess this works quite well!

Re: Server moved to new location

I do appreciate the work and money it takes to run a site. This is a unique site and still has that personal non commercial feel. I have not logged on here without challenge questions since the change was made. I done what was asked, wiped cookies and so forth. This IP is not a problem. There comes ...

Re: Server moved to new location

Well, after wiping cookies ( and the work that comes from putting in passwords on every site I visit ), I still get the challenge question. Actually two questions, and it says the first one was correct. I don't care for this at all. I will visit the site in a few weeks and see if this is corrected. ...

Re: Server moved to new location

Again, this morning, I had the challenge question. Answered correctly the first try. Then tells me I might still be a robot, please answer another challenge question. Which I did and it immediately sends me to the forum. I hate wiping cookies as that usually takes quite a bit of time to put all the ...

Re: Server moved to new location

I have gotten "access denied" page the last two or three days I have opened the forum. Even though I am logged in. I answer a couple challenge questions and get in after a couple tries. Probably shouldn't be doing this?

Re: Which Screen ?

There are no distributors for WERKS Quiet Ride windshields beyond buying direct from WERKS Parts in the USA. I would love to change that but the dynamics don't allow that just yet. Yes, 7Jurock is contracted to build these for WERKS but they cannot sell them at the same price per agreement. Their pr...

Re: Why did BMW change sides for the final drive/muffler

Don't overlook the chance that changing the final drive/shaft system to the other side......makes it look like an ALL new system that might not automatically be linked to some of the failures the previous models had. For those that were concerned about final drive issues, and there are a lot of them...

Re: Grips that you would suggest

I have grown to really like this o-ring kit.  I like the firm feel with the added size.  The more I use them the more I like them. I had been given a few sets of the neoprene style grip covers by the owner of the company to try. ( Traded a windshield! ) I went back to the O-rings ...

Re: Grips that you would suggest

If you like the feel of larger grip, without the numb feeling of foam add on covers, these are wonderful additions: O ring grip kit . I have run these and they give a stickier feel than stock, don't hold water, never seem to wear, are removable, and have grip when wet. If you want a foam type cover,...

Re: Panel torx screws - Is there a rhyme or reason for the different shank lengths?

Getting to the air filter is an unnecessary cruelty. I suppose that with how well the rest of the bike is engineered and how well it seems to be holding up, BMW just HAD to do something to satisfy those in need of pain and suffering.... Pay attention to how many panels and how thick they are as you ...

Re: 2014-2015 R1200RT's With Low Miles

Clutch fluid is good for life of the bike. A 2014 wouldn't need that changed. Lifetime might mean to not worry about it, but somewhere down the road I will change mine for peace of mind.

Re: Sports screen on 2018 RT

It is expensive to get a WERKS screen across the Pond! Averages $90-100 US just for shipping cost. No matter what you do, don't lose faith in the RT! Why that "sport" screen is on those is still a mystery to me. I tested a prototype "sport style" screen a while back and there was...

Re: Lack of attachment points for bungies

For those of us that actually do a lot of touring, I am going to suspect you won't find many "bungie straps" on their gear. To many lost straps and items when using them. While there are limited attachment points, I have found the passenger hand holds to be adequate. I use Rok-Straps and s...

Re: Two Up Riding on a R 1200 RT

Well, let us just say your Harley has some nice points that allow two up riding in comfort. Maybe a bit more passenger room? But then there is the heat from the engine.... The RT puts out about 114 hp and 94 lb ft of torque to the rear wheel. Compare that to the Harley. And you don't have to rev the...

Re: fuel smell

I used to have that raw gasoline smell from my 2014 RT. Finally figured out it was the fuel cap not seating. I put grease on the latch assembly, and make an effort to close it more carefully.

Never a whiff after doing this!
