Re: Is 95k too many

California Highway patrol trades there air cooled bmw’s at 150,000 miles, with people standing in line to buy them. No idea what they go for
Mileage on clutch and shocks would be the deal breaker for me as they both are $$$$ items

Re: Body panel screws

After suffering the frustration of various bolt sizes I learned  to use a bit of painters tape and tape each bolt to the removed panel next to the hole it goes in. FYI my local dealer supplied me a assortment of bolts and plastic colliers in case I misplaced one, think I was charged about $...

Re: New member, researching the 1200RT

If you don’t want a liquid cooled RT, 10-13 would be in my opinion the best model

Being a new bike, I’d be inclined to have dealer take a look
At the least you will be establishing that there is a problem, that needs addressing for future reference

Re: 2018 Final Drive oil specs

Final drive on wethead bikes is so easy to access, I’ve started changing every oil change. DIMPLE DRAIN PLUGS makes some nice strong magnetic drain plugs for engine and final drive, worth the look

Re: Engine oil

Cyclegear and amazon have castrol T4 10-50 on sale quite often
Buy a couple six-packs, you should be good for 3 oil changes

David
Look up speed bleeders, 3 for your bike, all different sizes i’am afraid, those and a quart of quality DOT4 brake fluid and your in business. Fluid flushes should take less than 30 minutes
Just be sure to keep brake fluid off the paint

Without trying to start a oil thread, what brand and weight are you using
When I got my 15 new I used Castrol 5-40 shifting was a bit stiff
At 3000 miles I switched to Bmw branded shell 5-40 Advantic, bike does shift easier, which may or may not have anything to do with oil

Re: Anyway to adjust angle of Nav

Instrument cluster is adjustable not the nav cradle
I have a 5 which is better than the 4 but not as good as the 6!!
I use a anti glare screen from amazon and a sunshade from wunderlich which helps but certainly leaves room for improvement

Hammo
What’s your location?
A company in California called 7Jurock, 7jurock.com, makes Werks windshields. I found them to be quite cost effective with a high quality product

Re: OEM Power Sockets

Add a direct wired and fused powerlet plug next to the Bmw plug on right upper panel, did it on my 15, unibit drill creates the correct hole for powerlet plug
One word of caution when removing upper side panels, those cheesy tabs are easy to break

Re: Lost my small tailbag straps.

I feel your pain as i’ve Lost straps and parts myself
First I would check with bag manufacturer if they can replace them
I feel lucky as one of my riding buddies is a parachute rigger, pretty much capable of replicating any strap or belt

My vote goes for Werks Quite Ride
The shape with the lip on top directs wind and rain away from your face
Top quality
