Re: Knee replacement

The most important thing to do after a total joint replacement is to religiously follow the rehab regimen. If she does that, she should be good to go. Not doing the regimen is a guaranteed fail.

Re: Looking to buy an RT

Welcome Tarun. RTs are great bikes, but some years are better than others. The first question would be "What is your budget?" or what are you looking at? If the bike you buy is in good condition, maintenance shouldn't be much of a problem. Lots of people maintain their own bike. There are ...

Re: Front Tire Wear 2018 R1200RT

Regardless of the brand/type tire you are using. That is unacceptable tire wear unless you are in full race mode. Are your back tires getting the same type of mileage? If not, you have a major problem. With the type of driving you say that you are driving. The back tires should be wearing faster. My...

Re: New to RT

Hi! I am a prospective owner of an RT, hopefully 2014 or newer. I currently own a 2014 F800GT, before that an ST. Before that, the list gets kinda long, stretching back to the late 1960's, mostly Japanese and British. During a recent trip on the GT down to the Blue Ridge Parkway and back (3200 mile...

Re: Tankbag vs kill switch

I guess BMW corrected the problem by 2017, because I have never experienced the problem. But I hope I never do.

Re: Cleaning up black plastic?

As I said earlier, I have some pride in my bike and I really didn't like the road rash look, so I attempted a fix. The fix could have gone better, but it doesn't look too bad for now. It was easier that I thought it would be. I only had to remove a dozen screws, a hidden plastic rivet, 2 pieces of T...

Re: Top Case too far forward (advise?)

Can't you just fabricate a mounting bracket and move the case back a few inches? Two pieces of quarter inch aluminum ought to do the job. If you are not that handy, a local bike shop ought to be able to take care of it.

Re: Cleaning up black plastic?

Thanks. So you used some plastic wrap? How difficult was that to apply? I was hoping that there might be some way of sanding them down and coating with some magic black product. I checked eBay and a used mirror is going for over $100. Yes, it's the same stuff you use for wrapping a car. Am not...

Cleaning up black plastic?

Damn, dropped my bike today and scratched up mirror plastic. Anybody got any recommendations on removing the road rash from the black plastic?

Re: Portable tyre pump

I have tried several 12v air pumps. Some draw too much current and will blow your fuse. I run directly from a battery charge connector with a 10 amp fuse. One of my older pumps even blew that fuse. That could be a real problem out on the road. Be sure to check your pump at home under extreme conditi...
