I have not bleed the fluid, due next year,checked piston movement, cleaned pins and pads,all seem ok,brake works fine.

Rear caliper getting very hot.
Hi, i have noticed that the rear caliper has been getting very hot ,this happens mainly when I have a pillion. I have stripped caliper cleaned,lubricant & checked piston movement. Would fitting different brake pads help or is this normal ?

Hi, didn't have fluid changed,not due til next year.caliper all works OK, I tryed to find the pads fitted on the Internet (brembo site)but they are not listed.only had the bike 10 months,so I'm thinking change pads to a recommended set.

Rear brake getting hot.
Hi,I was changing final drive oil last nite and I noticed the rear disc is getting very hot,disc has a dark blue look,checked caliper, seems OK, pads are brembo siniterd.have ordered new pads from motorworks,ceramic type,hope this helps.

fuel strip faulty
I'm having the fuel strip replaced Thursday, which I'm told will have 2 yrs warranty on it,so do I take it BMW will keep replacing them if they keep failing within the 2 yrs ??

2005 rt brake fluid change
When to my local BMW dealer Friday, to book bike in for fuel strip replacement, £182.00.I asked about changing brake fluid and was told it was a 3.9 hour job at £100 hour (£400) the sales guy discounted this for me as he could see I was not happy,but it still will cost £220 just for fluid ...

I have a 2005 rt with 13000 miles,but I love it . Always been a Honda man myself ,but I test rode a pan European st1300 after a rt and it was to heavy,handling was bad and the wife preferred the rt for comfort .so that was it.job done.

Ok,thanks for all the advice .We are off on a 10 day trip in August through France,Germany (B500) & the Switzerland passes,so I will get out on the RT with the wife as much as possible before the trip.cheers Ade

Riding with luggage & pillion
I would like some advice on riding with luggage & a pillion.the weight off the bike when loaded up is very heavy,any tips on this.also my wife finds it difficult to get on when the panniers are fitted.Any advice or tips would be great
