Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

Ann and I just returned from a 300 mile day trip from our home in Denver NC up to Hot Springs by way of a great road nicknamed the rattlesnake, NC 209. We had a great ride and spent about an hour in the hot springs. Had a great lunch in town and then headed home by way of NC 25. When we got home and...

Re: Oil Useage

Sorry, she has a 2012 Lowered RT. She was pretty easy on it when she bought it new. Ive always thought that was part of the problem. Ive just never had an issue with oil consumption on any of my RTs dating back to 1995. And my 2014 uses absolutely none.

Oil Useage

IF this has been covered before please forgive me but I must ask: Ive never had an issue with any of my Rts burning a bunch of oil.My friend is out of town on an extended ride around the great lakes.  She is burning about 8  ounces every 1000 miles. What causes one bike to burn oil...

Re: Tank Bag Advice

I use the Wolfman Ranier Bag but its pretty big. The Blackhawk bag is smaller and probably more easy to use but I needed good size bag for the month trip out west. If I had the money for both, Id use the Blackhawk for day to day and weekend trips and keep the Ranier bag for big trips. I dont like th...

Re: 6000 Mile service

I changed my own oil , filter and final drive oil. They did all the valve stuff and changed the brake fluid as well as all the inspections.  I felt pretty good about the cost.

Re: Pre or Post '14 RT?

I prefer to ride mine in Dynamic / Normal. When Im in the mountains I use the Hard. On the interstate for long periods I use Soft.

I keep it in Dynamic all the time. It seems to shift better for me.

Re: Oil level creeping up???

When I change my oil I put in 4 quarts. I change the filter each time I change the oil. My owners manual calls for 1.1 gallon max or 4 liters with a filter change. When I put in 4 quarts the sight glass is completely filled. If it burns a little oil and moves down the glass Ill wait to top it off wh...

Re: Mettalic Matte Paint

I cant speak to our finances but I really like my matte grey bike. The Ebony looks like Harley Davidson rootbeer to me. Had the Ebony actually been blackI might have picked that instead. Best of luck with your choice and prayers and good thoughts headed your way on the Kidney cancer. Im not really c...
